Profile

Van Quattro was born on August 21, 1954 in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is an American actor who is best known for portraying villains in psychological thrillers and crime dramas.

Following a challenging childhood, Van discovered acting and started out in LA in the 1980s with roles in the theater industry and small parts in television series including Remington Steele, Alien Nation and Picket Fences. An experienced film and TV actor, he is perhaps best known for roles in Silent Night, Deadly Night 5 (1991), emerging serial killer Willi Borgsen in Millennium (1996), End of Days (1999), Fight Club (1999) and One Night at McCool's (2001).

Around 2000, work had dried up, and after the birth of his son Case and he found himself becoming increasingly disenchanted with LA. Quattro moved from from Hollywood to Forth Worth (his wife’s hometown) where shortly after he quit acting. Soon after the move, Quattro was divorced.

For ten years, Quattro didn’t act. He worked construction, he worked as a photographer, anything to keep him near Case. He says he wanted to imprint himself on his son — as his dad. That meant, sometimes, just driving by the house, and sitting with him for a few minutes in the car. “But I did that every day.”

Quattro later resumed work as a director and stage actor in the North Texas theater industry and has subsequently returned to acting in independent features and short films.
