The young FBI Agent who was sent to Los Alamos on the request of Assistant Director Clyde Tolson. After discovering what Dr. Alexander had become as a result of his work on the atomic bomb project, Lanyard returned to Washington D.C. only to have his report altered.

He swore to one day give Natalie Alexander her father's journal, but after fifty-four years without success, he shot himself in the head.
