The Frenchman's Millennium Character Profile
Profile
Repressing his homosexual desires, The Frenchman would often frequent The Ruby Tip strip club. Angry he could not feel a longing for the strippers, he followed one of them (Calamity) home and murdered her.
He believed Nostradamus‘s predictions of "le grande peste" were coming to fruition as the AIDS epidemic and buried a homosexual man in a coffin - alive, with his eyes and mouth sewn shut. Frank found The Frenchman working in the morgue and fought him off until Bob Bletcher could shoot him dead. His last words: "You can‘t stop it."

Related DVD Comments/Information
Chris Carter (DVD Commentary on Pilot):
This idea of the Frenchman played by Paul Dillon really came from the Nostradamus prophecy which had a lot to do with the idea of the series, the idea that there is something approaching at the millennium, this series being produced I think four years before the end of the century, that we were headed toward something grave and foreboding.
