Long Time Away-thought I'd Catch Up!:)

Taught an evening class tonight~3 to 5 year-olds on astronomy...I learned a lot of stuff because you have to bone up on things you're not so knowledgable in , ya know? Did you know stars twinkle because they are so far away, and when their light is traveling thorugh space, cosmic disturbances can shift and refract the light, as well as the stirring of our own atmosphere. This shift is seen as "twinkling" or movement of the light. Planets don't twinkle because they are much bigger and closer in "light" years. Cool s***, dude. We also saw a "shooting star" tonight in the Blue Jay field~I'm sure most of you know that it's really a meteor(piece of rock) that has ignited as it entered our atmosphere. We are seeing it's final stages of life, unless it doesn't combust completely.

Oh, and the definition of a constellation is a group of stars that have been named way back when people saw "pictures" in their alignment. There are 88 constellations in our night sky. I finally was able to recognize Orion, the hunter as well as the Dog, with Sirrius, the brightest star, in it's collar. Kickass!

I will be picking up my computer system, complete with a Fugi 4.4 Megapixel Digital camera, tomorrow when I get my lazy ass up. I'm stoked! The only thing I'm stressing about is putting together the computer desk (which is awesome, BTW). Anybody not busy this weekend is more than welcome to come over and pitch in so I don't lose my mind~I will feed and juice you up with beverages of your choice...if you don't mind helping out. Otherwise, don't expect to see me online until I get it all figured out!

Oh, and I got bored, so I decided to color my hair reddish-blonde. My daughter thinks it looks stupid, but I kind of like it. Oh well, we'll see how it holds up. I have this overwhelming desire to repierce my nose...I had it done about 4 years ago, and wore a small stud in my nose for years. I removed it when I started working for the parks and with young children...I keep waffling as to whether I should just forget about it or go ahead and risk the scorn of some of our more conservative patrons. But damn, I loved that nose stud!

I also am in the total mood for another tattoo...see what a little bit of money does to you?? Haha~don't worry, all my bills are set to be paid. I just really want to enjoy myself a bit with a little of it.

I AM going to get Shelby a bike~hers was stolen two Christmases ago, and we haven't had the money to replace it. After we pick up the computer tomorrow, we will look around at Walmart or Target to find a decently priced bike. She'll be happy~she also wants to dye her hair. I'm not too fond of the blue she wants, but I did agree to some red streaks. I don't think I'm overly conservative..it's just that blue is so, I don't know, BLUE. At least for hair. Red seems to be more acceptable to my mind. Hell, she really wants to dye it black...I can feel a wannabe goth coming on...I don't mind that she wants to experiment, it's just funny to watch kids go through these phases of what they consider cool. Is she too young to play? I don't think so...you give them the freedom to play, they will have to the strength to confront other challenges in life. Kinda philosophal, but that's just my thing, I guess.

Hey, Tonyah, glad to see you dropped in, however briefly. I've been occasionally dropping by your MySpace page to see whether you're still around.

Had a newbie on TIWWA asking if any members had ouroboros tattoos and we replied that you did but you hadn't been active lately. Suggested they look up your member info for your other contact info. Did anyone e-mail about tattoos?

Post us a pic of yourself with your new hair color when you get that fancy new web cam up and running and come visit more often.

Hope everything is going well otherwise. Good luck with the new PC and computer desk.

I have some great new pics-you've probably seen them at myspace, but I'm still trying tio figure all the ends and outs of Windows 2000 and a new computer-haha-it's fun in a weird sort of way-it's like being in a candy store after not having candy for years! :kickin:

First problem-I used to be able to log in as "remember me" here, and come back still logged in-but I'm apparently not saving the correct URL to my favorites-any suggestions?

Hope all of you are doing well, and no, no one has asked me about my tatttos, and the contacts here are still good!

Cheers!

I'm not much for bikes bought from places like WalMart. Usually it is worth it to buy from a bike shop because some of those bikes in places like WalMart and Kmart sometimes aren't put together right. Just be advised.

I'll check out your myspace page again as soon as I can for the pix.

As to staying signed in here, Graham has made several upgrades/mods to the board in the last few months and the log in was one thing that changed slightly. You now have to log in to TIWWA each time you visit in order to get full member access. Apparently you are automatically logged out every time you leave the site whether you intended to be or not.

Have a good one!

Great to see you at TIWWA! You have been missed! Good luck with the new PC and I'm sure there's plenty of Millennium Candidates here would be willing to pop around and set up your desk!

As for loggin in and out problems, there are some tips in my signature and some help pages on it but there is no way you should be logged out from TIWWA unless you click the Log Out link. Something is clearing your cookies between TIWWA visits, or preventing your browser storing the cookie, preventing a stored cookie from being read. When you return, your browser cannot see the cookie for one of those reasons so its assuming you need to log in again. My first advice is to check your Browsers security settings and make sure they are set to no higher than Medium, which should ensure cookies can be stored and read without interference.

What we have found is that some peoples computers seem to have a problem with the website address being https://www.tiwwa.info (which is the correct address for the site and the one you should bookmark) but the actual board and its files are located in a subfolder at https://millenniumdesktop.co.uk/tiwwa/

When you click on links to move around the board you are navigating https://millenniumdesktop.co.uk/tiwwa/ but if you visted via the tiwwa.info domain name, your browser may get confused. The cookies are named millenniumdesktop.co.uk not tiwwa.info and on rare occasions this may cause problems but its the best configuration for us. To be honest, it shouldn't matter what the cookies are prefixed with, your browser should read and store them without problem.

Southern Celt is right when he mentioned problems after upgrades but it has been limited to two occasions:

1. When we switch from one make of board to this one (Ikonboard to Invision Power Board) and had to convert the user logins from one type to the new type. Some peoples browsers were trying to access the board with a cookie that used a different format and encryption so we needed people to remove their cookies and temporary files so that their browser would fetch, store and access the new type.

2. When we upgraded from Invision Boad v1 to v2, similar story as above.

Anyway, check your browsers security levels in its options page (visit the Help Pages for more information).

If you are still having problems, send me a PM and I'll try reseting your password key and salt which has fixed problems in the past. And if you are using AOL to access the forum, use Internet Explorer on your desktop or Start Button or better yet, download the faster, more secure and feature laden Firefox Browser from https:www.getfirefox.com (recommended even if you aren't having problems as it will cut down on the adware and spyware getting on your new PC!). AOL has major issues in cookie handling.

For comparison, I visit TIWWA with no problems via https://www.TIWWA.info which I have bookmarked. I access it using the Firefox browser (IE or Firefox at work). Whenever I go to tiwwa.info and click on the forums, I'm automatically logged in (because the Board was able to access the cookies and know I have a valid username and password).

I hope we can fix any problems you are having, its always great to have you online with us!

Thanks Old Man, for the advice! You know, you're like the third person this month that has recommended Firefox, and I've been having quite a few problems lately with hijackers, cookie-handling, etc. I think I might give it a try! But baby steps...just baby steps for me! :wtf: Thanks! And wonderful greetings to you!! :)

No problem at all, apologies for the awful spelling in my post above too.

You won't regret switching to Firefox it more than deserves its hype. It has a guide for Internet Explorer users who have switched to it detailing the most important differences.
