  1. What's new in this club
  2. Anyone watching this? I kind of lost interest and wonder if I should get back to it once Saul's over.
  3. Guess no one's watching it, but 4 episodes in, I'm liking it a lot. Yes, the show takes some indulgences that are sometimes annoying, but the story is intriguing and characters rich. We get some revisiting this season that I'm happy to see again. Maybe the ending will be good. They have no excuses: plenty of time to prepare for a known end date.
  4. I still have to watch season 4 of the Bridge (have the bluray and multi-region bluray player I can play it on). I love the Tunnel. I do feel the US version of the Bridge is a letdown in season 2 in the way it portrays women.
  5. That's a shame, I hope it gets further availability. I just finished watching all 4 seasons of The Bridge (the original Swedish/Danish version) after watching the 2 season US version. Both were absolutely excellent and just as original, intriguing and well written as The Tunnel (the UK version of the Swedish version (phew!) I saw years back). So many twists and turns! The first opening 10 mins of The Tunnel still blows me away. I either forgot or didn't realise but S1 of Der Pass was based on S1 of original Swedish/Danish The Bridge (itself based on an acclaimed book), so I'm keen to see if there are more elements, each version has its own interpretation and story as well as the original premise. All of these are worth watching in their own right if you've not discovered the genre yet and the subtitles don't detract at all. PS. Avoid Wikipedia and it's rotten spoilers policy if you intend to watch any of these related shows, they will spoil them for you.
  6. Better Call Saul returns April 18th on AMC. Finally. Better dust off the last season DVDs I've got! I honestly remember where we left off. Yeah, I do, just not well. Should be wonderful!
  7. I'm so looking forward to the return of TV. Yes, there's been stuff on, I guess, but so many delays b/o Covid. I was reading an article on Picard's return, and it could go off the rails if it isn't done really skillfully. (https://screenrant.com/star-trek-picard-season-2-release-date-story-cast/). This alternate reality angle could get preachy and woke and if it does, I'll be signing off. Hopefully not...
  8. i watched this back around the era when millennium was on the way out and brimstone was onand haunted was shortly after.wish theyd caught on at upn/wb the way buffy and angel did so they couldve lasted longer.
  9. Season 2 premieres March 3rd on Paramount+ in the United States with weekly episode drops. The season is going to be 10 episodes and features Q and Guinan. There is a bit of time travel element as Picard and cast have to go back to the 21st century (Earth 2024) to stop something that happened to change the timeline of the future (good old Q and his games). Trailer: P.S. Can we get this pinned to the top of the discussion board?
  10. I had the chance to watch the first episode on Roku for free, but I missed out. Season One is only available on Topic streaming service in the USA (I wish Acorn TV would get it).
  11. Great news, Season 2 of Der Pass appeared this week! All episodes downloadable on Sky On Demand/Now TV if you have access to it. Can't wait to see if it's as good as the first season! Apparently it takes place a year after S1, so I'm hoping there's more breathtaking visuals of those snowy Scandinavian forests and mountains (and creepy ass antler wearing weirdos aplenty). Episode Summary https://www.sky.com/watch/title/series/15e9c294-c6d6-4acf-ad91-62a4cb89e209/the-pass/episodes/season-2/episode-1 The trailer is below, in Deutsch of course... @hobbeschild I'm sorry you didn't get a reply to your post, I completely missed it. I'd have to rewatch S1 to remind myself and be sure but I think you're correct. Hope you get to see S2, this and Absentia are unmissable.
  12. I thought Better Call Saul was finishing up this year in 2021. Did I miss something? I know Bob Odenkirk had a heart attack scare, but heard he was back on set pretty quick.
  13. Watch 'Saul' all the time Last season coming up next year. 'Nobody' was great. Hope they do another one.
  14. The Selfosopist episode was absolutely one of my favorites. For such a dark show, MM could deliver some great humor when certain writers wanted to do it! Anyway, seesthru, I didn't make that connection w/BCS, so thanks. When the show comes back, I'll look for him as he's coming back according to the press.
  15. The actor that played Joseph P Ratfinkovitc,h the selfosophist found dead in "Jose Chung's Doomsday Defense" is on that show, too. Patrick Fabian.
  16. Yes, I know what you mean! Sometimes I treat myself to a rerun or perhaps replay of the final episode of a series' preceding season. Just to refresh the old noggin if it's been a while. Happening more and more these days!
  17. I don't have Netflix either, Old Man, but here, BCS is on AMC anyway. These TV subscriptions can add up very quickly... BCS took its time getting going, but it was a good opportunity to develop Jimmy/Saul character. Now, being slowed down in production b/o Covid, I just hope I remember what happened in the show so long ago.🤔
  18. Well my hopes for season 4 of Absentia are gone... https://deadline.com/2021/05/absentia-stana-katic-star-amazon-series-ending-season-3-1234752237/ Brilliant series.
  19. Hopefully he'll get better and make a strong recovery. Sad to hear about that. Bob Odenkirk is a very talented actor. I absolutely loved Breaking Bad and I've waited years to see Better Call Saul, I don't have Netflix. I know, I deserve to be flogged. Now I'm looking forward to it even more after reading your thoughts on it!
  20. I thought I had started a Better Call Saul topic here a few years ago, but I can't find it. Maybe I didn't. Anyway, it's only tangentially related to MM inasmuch as show co-creator Vince Gilligan once wrote for Chris Carter's 1013--one or two X-Files. Small Potatoes was one. Long and short, I was sorry to read this week that Bob Odenkirk, who plays Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/Gene Takovic collapsed on set. He apparently had a "small" heart attack, but is doing okay. He's a really good actor IMO and the show is arguably better than its pre-sequel, Breaking Bad. I can't imagine what they'd do if they lost him in the show's last season! Looks like that great finale will be delayed even more. Sh^t! https://www.msn.com/en-in/entertainment/entertainmenttopstories/better-call-saul-star-bob-odenkirk-recovering-from-small-heart-attack/ar-AAMM78B
  21. I watched the first few episodes. Haven't tuned in for the last 3 or 4. It feels pretty generic crime procedural stuff. I rather have Hannibal come back than the so-so of Clarice
  22. The silence is over. CBS is taking you back to 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, with brand new sequel series “Clarice,” which has just been dated for premiere early next year. Rebecca Breeds (“Pretty Little Liars”) will star as Clarice Starling. The previously announced cast also includes Michael Cudlitz as Paul Krendler, Lucca de Oliveira as Tomas Esquivel, Kal Penn as Shaan Tripathi, Nick Sandow as Agent Clarke, Devyn Tyler as Ardelia Mapp and Marnee Carpenter as The Silence of the Lambs character Catherine Martin. “Clarice is set in 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. The series is a deep dive into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling, as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high stakes political world of Washington, D.C.” “Brilliant and vulnerable, Clarice graduated Magna from UVA with a double major in Psych and Criminology. Her bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her. Her complex psychological makeup comes from a challenging childhood, and her drive comes from her need to escape the burden of family secrets that have haunted her throughout her life.” Full article at Bloody Disgusting:
  23. I recently caught up with Season 3 of Absentia and it was the best season yet. Can't wait for Season 4!
