The Songs of Millennium Collection

This is a complete collection of the songs which were used in the episodes of Millennium – Season 1 to Season 3. I was about to watch every episode, try and identify every song and compile them when I discovered the work had already been done and appeared in the episode listings found on the Millennial Abyss. My thanks to Brian Dixon who has did all the initial work on this and has created such an awesome and useful website that is the Millennial Abyss. The Abyss can be found at… https://www.fourthhorseman.com/Abyss/

When was Head Like a Hole used in the pilot episode?

i haven't seen it in a while, and am separated from my tapes and DVDs by the largest ocean on the planet, but you might try one of the scenes in the strip club. i can hear the song and see the club, i'm just not sure if i'm remembering correctly.

- nothing

From a scan of Maria Vitale's transcript of the pilot episode:

White Zombie's "More Human Than Human" (from the Astro-Creep: 2000 CD) in the opening scene.

Nine Inch Nails' "Piggy" (from The Downward Sprial CD) when Calamity performs for the Frenchman.

Portishead's "Roads" (from the Dummy CD) when Frank talks to Tuesday.

I can't see any reference to other songs in the episode. Maria is usually spot on with these references and her transcripts were made from the original aired version. Maybe "Head Like A Hole" was used in another episode, or even on the X-Files, since these are Chris Carter's choice (the script for this episode does specify a Ninch Inch Nails song in the opening scene, although it doesn't specify which one).

I must say.... it's so cool that someone's going to the time & trouble to make such a list. I tried to write a lot of them down, several years ago, but found the task to be too overwhelming. (especially, considering there were many songs I'd never heard of)

Millennium fan sites have been carrying the list around for some time. On the one at MDUK for example, I've added to it whenever someone has found a song missing and reported it here at TIWWA which surprisingly has happened I think twice over the last couple of years. At MDUK I called it the Quick Music Listing at the time because I wanted to expand it on a seperate part of the site which never materialised. The new MDUK will feature a fully detailed music section on all aspects of the music and themes used in the series. Its handy to have a quick reference list though and we'll be keeping that. I also have some music titles to add to the list which are currently missing.

Hmm, I think the inclusion of Head Like a Hole is a mistake. I don't remember hearing it at all in the pilot episode, and that song wasn't used in any other "Millennium" episode.
