The official website of Vancouver-based actress Sarah-Jane Redmond (who of course brought us Millennium's demonic Lucy Butler), has today announced that Sarah-Jane will be seen on-screen during this summer's forthcoming blockbuster X-Files: I Want to Believe. The film's producers have stipulated that the cast and crew members not discuss any of the film details in order to preserve the characters and plotline. A page added recently to our Episode and Credits Guide covers the news updates and developments concerning two of the most popular questions that are on the minds of Millennium fans at the moment: Will Frank Black get a cameo in the second X-Files film and will there be a Millennium movie? Sadly the first question would seem to have been officially answered by Chris Carter himself, confirming reports already published on the web. On the 18th of April 2008, an article was posted at IGN Entertainment, an excerpt relating to Frank Black and Millennium is below: On April 17, 2008, writer-director Chris Carter and producer Frank Spotnitz appeared at the New York Comic Con to divulge a few details about the upcoming sequel X-Files: I Want to Believe. Following a screening of the film's theatrical trailer and brief introduction by IGN's Entertainment Editorial Manager Chris Carle, Carter and Spotnitz fielded questions from fans... The pair indicated that Frank Black, the main character of the show Millennium, would not make an appearance in the film. "I wish I could tell you yes but I have to tell you no," said Carter. An article has appeared at Sci-Fi.com concerning Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz's appearance yesterday at the William S. Paley Television Festival in Hollywood on March 26. Chris and Frank were there to promote the forthcoming X-Files movie sequel which is as yet still untitled. Despite having a release date of July 25th 2008 there are still no official promotional trailers or material and the lack of a movie title cannot help. The writing pair however offered fans a few tantalizing spoilers for the movie including the reason for the delay in naming the sequel's title. Of particular note to fans of Millennium though, Carter also revealed that he has mulled a movie based on Millennium, which starred Lance Henriksen as criminal profiler and family man Frank Black. "We've talked about that over the years," he said. "Lance would love to do it. I don't know if it would ever get done. It's a long shot. It would be fun. I have ideas about how to do it." Someone has posted a video recording from Lance Henriksen's recent Q&A Session from the Scandinavian Sci-Fi, Game and Film Convention in Sweden. Lance mostly answers questions about his role as Bishop from Alien and as usual he's a lot of fun to watch and listen too. Lance Henriksen, best loved by many for his role as Frank Black in Chris Carter's Millennium has again spoken about a proposed Millennium movie. This time Lance commented about the much desired feature film during his recent attendance at the Scandinavian Sci-Fi, Game and Film Convention in Sweden. You may recall our earlier news article from November when Lance sparked much euphoria and speculation with Millennium fans in Manchester, England when he hinted Frank Black was to return. One of our forum members, 'AlexFoley' spoke to Lance in Sweden and posted as follows: I just came home from meeting Lance Henriksen on a sci-fi convention held in Sweden. Lance Henriksen is one of (if not the) nicest celebrities i've met in my life. He was so cool & down to earth, just like everyone who's met him has said before. ... he said that the Millennium movie WILL happen, THIS year! ... He said with a clear tone in his voice that the movie will be DARK, very dark. I shot the whole thing with a camera so I'll upload it on youtube for you all to see soon. Futon Critic have recently posted a news release from Chiller that Chris Carter's Millennium will be returning to US TV screens on Monday February 4th. Although the show has been available on DVD format for a number of years following a long battle, a whole new generation of US television viewers will now hopefully be introduced to this critically-acclaimed television masterpiece and the daily format will provide another opportunity for an impromptu re-run amongst Millennium DVD owners. Actor Lance Henriksen (Millennium's tortured Frank Black) has sparked much euphoria and speculation with hopeful Millennium fans during a Q&A session at last weekend's Collectormania in Manchester, England. Attendee EngineComics explains in a topic on our Millennium forums: I asked him how he felt about the resolution of his character in Millennium and with news of the X Files 2 film going into production, if there was a chance Frank Black might appear again on screen. He said he felt shortchanged by the cancellation and that the show could have gone at least another season as they were dealing with "dark, dark stuff" and he would have been interested in seeing that played out. As for the X Files movie... he said Chris Carter had asked him not to discuss it with fans if asked if Frank was in it... and from the grin on his face as he said "can you guess why?" It looks likely we will finally see Mr Noir on the big screen, even if it is as a supporting character in another film. This news has also been picked up over at Ain't It Cool News which has resulted in much reminiscing of the Millennium series in their comments section. So, is Frank Black to make an official return? From: www.comingsoon.net The X-Files 2 Starts Shooting December 10 Source: Diva October 29, 2007 After years of David Duchovny talking about the sequel, and almost 10 years after the first feature, 20th Century is finally ready to start production on The X-Files 2 with the actor in place to reprise his role of Special Agent Fox Mulder. Gillian Anderson is also expected to be back on board to play Special Agent Dana Scully. Shooting is scheduled to begin on December 10 in Vancouver under the direction of series creator Chris Carter. Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the script. The studio is referring to the film in casting breakdowns as "Done One." The popular series ran on Fox from 1993 to 2002. Rob Bowman directed the first feature, which hit theaters on June 19, 1998. Actor Lance Henriksen who of course brought us the enigmatic Millennium criminal profiler Frank Black, is set to make 2 convention visits in the near future. Lance is apparently appearing in the UK at CollectorMania on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th November 2007, at Central Hall (formally the G-Mex Centre), Manchester, M2 3GX. Sad news has reached fans of actor Charles Nelson Reilly, the much loved actor who portrayed José Chung on the television shows The X-Files and Millennium. Sadly Charles passed away in May 2007 aged 76. Charles was perfectly cast for his role as the comical but controversial writer José Chung in the Millennium episode Jose Chung's 'Doomsday Defense' who came to Frank Black and the Millennium Group for help when a bizarre religious group called Selfosophy, which he'd recently written a very unflattering short story about, placed a price on his head. May 28, 2007, 12:22AM Game show panelist Charles Nelson Reilly dies at 76 By PATRICK MCGEEHAN New York Times Charles Nelson Reilly, who acted and directed on Broadway but came to be best known for his campy television appearances on talk shows and Match Game, died Friday in Los Angeles. He was 76 and lived in Beverly Hills, Calif. The cause was complications of pneumonia, said his partner, Patrick Hughes, who is his only immediate survivor. Reilly had been ill for more than a year. Long before moving west to become what he ruefully described as a "game show fixture," Reilly was an actor and an acting teacher in New York City. In 1962, he won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Bud Frump in the original Broadway production of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. But he was proudest of The Belle of Amherst, a one-woman play starring Julie Harris based on the life of Emily Dickinson, which he directed on Broadway in 1976, said Timothy Helgeson, who collaborated with him. Two decades later, Reilly directed Harris and Charles Durning in a revival of The Gin Game. He was nominated for a Tony for best director in 1997, and Harris was nominated for best actress. His final work was an autobiographical one-man show, Save It for the Stage: The Life of Reilly, in which he recounted his difficult childhood. Born in the Bronx, the only child of a Swedish mother and an Irish father, Reilly told of the pain of being considered the oddest member of a decidedly odd family. In the 1970s and 1980s, Reilly, with his ascots, oversize spectacles and over-the-top penchant for double-entendres, was a regular on television. He appeared more than 95 times on the Tonight show with Johnny Carson and was a panelist on game shows like Match Game and Hollywood Squares.. Randy Stone, better known to Millennium fans from the Season Two episode Beware of the Dog as character Michael Beebe, sadly passed away last week aged just 48. The on-line obituary (pointed out by TIWWA Staff Member Libby) is due to be removed from the LA Times website in a few weeks, so it will be preserved here for posterity and out of respect. Randy was the casting director at 20th Century Fox Television responsible for casting both The X-Files and Millennium. As an actor, Morgan and Wong prompted him to appear in Space: Above and Beyond and The Others in addition to Millennium. STONE , Randy (48) Died of heart failure at his home in Beverly Hills on Monday, February 12. Although he started his career as a child actor, Randy made his name as a television casting director, cutting his teeth at The Landsberg Company. He won an Emmy for casting the movie of the week "The Incident". As Head of Casting at 20th Century Fox Television he was responsible for shaping the "The X Files" and "Millennium". He developed and executive produced the feature film "Little Man Tate" with Jodie Foster and Dianne Wiest. He won an Oscar in 1994 for producing the short film "Trevor," a tender and humorous tale of a young gay boy's attempted suicide. Most recently, Randy produced the Lifetime film "A Little Thing Called Murder," starring Judy Davis, for which he won the International Press Academy's Satellite Award. The movie was based on the bizarre true crime story of Sante and Kenny Kimes. Randy also co-founded The Trevor Project, which operates a national 24-hour hotline for gay and questioning teenagers and distributes educational materials to schools around the country to help troubled teens. Randy is survived by his two sisters Marie and Malia, his brother Jeff, his mother Beverly, his father Richard and his two Chow Chows, Cooper and Lola. Here was a man that was so full of life, brimming with a kooky charm that lit up the room. His passionate spirit and tireless friendship will be missed by all. Services were held on Friday at Forest Lawn's Old North Church, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive.
