  1. Sorry to hear. Thank u for posting this to let us know. Thoughts and chants for him and his family.
  2. I am just speechless. Words can absolutely not express my sadness and grief. Deepest and sincerest condolences to all the community's here and all her many friends in various subcultures and circles. I was privilaged to have a very close friendship with Erin. Truly one of a kind, incredibly creative and caring person, who sometimes cared too much. You will be so very missed, dear dear Erin! Safe Journeys, mate!
  3. Very good and true quote! I have heard that one before. And great to be back and to digitally "hang" with the old gang. I don't think I knew you'd lost your son. There is nothing like that pain. I watched my parents experience it. I don't know how long ago it was, but you have my sincere condolences. Thanks for reminding of the Home Away From Home forum. Back in the day, we used to call TIWWA that, because we all felt that way about the community of fans. Name change might not remaim as it is. Still deciding. Great being back! TIWWA
  4. My visits to TIWWA have been so sporatic and infrequent that I failed to see the discussion that ensued from my thread starter. And a very insightful discussion it was! It always amazes me the depth that can be found in just one scene of a Millennium episode. And it's kind of fitting I rediscovered this thread now. Last year both my father and then later his sister passed away. Though my younger brother's sudden death in 1991, and my paternal grandmother's death a few years later effected me deeply, I was a younger man in my mid-twenties then. It effected me much differently then. The impact of each my father's and my aunt's passing was profound. And I am not one to run from the big things in life - I tend to face it - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the beautiful. So I quite relate very personally to the things various people have said in this thread. I was even able to do for my aunt (and my grandmother) on their deathbeds what Frank did for Takashi. When I did this for my aunt, she passed away a few hours later (my grandmother, a day later). The impact of morning my father and aunt has been emence - coming to terms with all the graditude, joyful memories, regret, troubled relations, etc. It has changed me. And like Frank toward Peter, the experience of grief has given me a depth of forgiveness, that was previously impossible for me. And it has made me more patient and compassionate. But like the struggles featured in this episode, the morning, regret, and loss was very difficult as it is for most. And it probably wasn't until like January or February of this year that some of the weight of it began to lift. I didn't plan on this being quite so personal a response, but there it is. This is who we are, Scott (aka selfosophist)
  5. Hey, Viivi! It's Scott, aka Selfosophist!  I've missed you since you left Facebook.  Hope you are well!

    1. Viivi

Hello, dear friend! Thank you for remembering me, it's good to be missed. I've returned to Facebook, and i just sent you a request and a message. Hope you are well, too!

  6. I have to say when I first heard about the outbreak in March or April of this year (2014), I immediately thought, "This is it..." and I almost immediately thought of the teaser from "The Time is NOW": TEAM MEMBER: Dr. Sorenson, we're in a hot zone. SORENSON: We can't determine that until we collect all the evidence. And corroborate it with the CDC at Fort Dietrich. [sorenson has joined his associate at the window. Both staring.] TEAM MEMBER: We don't have to wait, sir. It's here. We knew it was coming. That it would spread faster than we could ever control it, and now it's here. The time is now.
  7. The link you sent will not work in the UK apparently. But if it is for Millennium Apocalypse, I have never actually watched it past the first episode. I just remember that it seemed a bit "emo-goth-new age" trying to be Millenniumistic. And the girl who played Jordan didn't seem very convincing to me, nor did she seem at all like what I would have envisioned Jordan to have grown up to be. That was years ago, though. Perhaps I will give it another go. What did you think of my show idea? I think that the idea of Jordan being in a witness protection programme would also be a good element for the Millennium movie, if it ever happens.
  8. I just posted my ideas about this recently at the Facebook group, The Millennium Group, and much discussion ensued! It reminded me of the many good old days of discussions here at TIWWA. So here I am. I know I keep threatening that I might finally to come back to stay. Sorry I haven't become a regular again yet. Anyway, I have over the years speculated/fantacised about ideas of Millennium and X-Files spin-offs. When speculating about such things, I always try to think of ways that would make it sell-able, as though I were actually going to try to pitch it as an actual show idea. My idea is for Ten Thirteen Production alumni to produce a new show centred around Jordan Black, starring Brittany Tiplady or another actress - scored of course by Mark Show. My thinking is that in the past several years there've been a fair share of dark fantacy and sci fi shows centred around young female leads. I think a popular audience could definitely be found for a show following the life of Frank Black's daughter (That's my conceit, anyway). The episodic plots and recurring arcs would not reveal that she was Jordan Black at first. Perhaps due to the various circumstances regarding the Millennium Group gone underground, Jordan had been placed years ago in a witness protection programme and living under an alias. The audience wouldn't be given this information until much later on... and the audience could slowly be fed memory sequences/flash backs gradually overtime and episodes (in JJ Abrams-esque fashion). They could keep her true identity a mystery as well as the circumstances that lead to her being put into witness protection until it is slowly revealed. Jordan's gift/curse - in the form of visions, powers, and "shepherding" would be the focus of the show from the start, leading to the weekly episodic situations she would get into... What you reckon?!
  9. Hello, all! I have been absent far too long! Not a day goes by that I don't think of some MillenniuM reference; some way that the events of the past decade years have been reflected in a MillenniuM episode; some MillenniuMistic aspect to a movie or show... I have often used the main TIWWA website over the years to look up some transcript, picture, fact, or info about Millennium. I shall be making an effort to actively participate here at the forums. Now before you point out that I have said this before - Don't be dark! I really mean it this time! I truly have missed being a part of TIWWA all these years. So this is just a quit post to say "hello" to all the old and new gang here at TIWWA. Upbeat Vibes Scott Pugliese (aka Selfosophist, aka Selfosophy Psycho)
  10. Really enjoyed standing in the garden in the cool night air gazing up a the stars, watching the meteor shower. Been a long time since I just spent some time starring at the stars. Cheers, universe for the opportunity!

    1. The Old Man

      The Old Man

Starring up at the stars. Millennium style!

  11. I forgot that I had written this. Anyone have any thoughts on this one?
  12. I just want to say that you guys have done and are continuing to do amazing things with community and fandom! Far too much to enumerate! I just want to say thank you, and that, though I have not be able to be a part of things here the past several years, I have kept up with what has been going on here. It is just amazing. I am grateful and proud I was able to be a part of the founding and creation of this community in it's early years. I am even more proud and excited about how you have all evolved, developed, and nurtured this community in to an online phenomenon! I love the usage of Blackcoats referring to Frank Black signature coats no doubt - nicely borrowed from Firefly's Browncoats! I suppose I just want to say thank you! It's been great to read all articles, interviews, and find out about all the news, campaigns, and events over the years. There is massive talent, enthusiasm, and depth here! This is who we are, Scott, the enthusiastic Millennium Fan, Blackcoat, and all around Ten Thrirteen Fan formerly known as Selfosophist, Selfosopher, Selfosophy Psycho, etc
  13. First thing that strikes me as I am watching the first few episodes is that even after more that a decade, MillenniuM still does not seem dated! I heard other comment on this. No matter how many times over the past few years I have watched individual episodes (haven't watched the full run in a long time), I always feel the same way. And it still seems superior to any crime, forensics, or supernatural drama since its original airing. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy Lost, the CSIs, all the Law and Order shows, 4400, and so on. But, still, nothing has surpassed it. Another thing that I became reaquainted with was the attention to detail. For example, toward the beginning of Dead Letters when Frank meets up with Jim Horn, he honors Horn's wish to be called by James from that point on. However, toward the end of the episode, when Frank runs to stop Horn from attacking the perp, he yells out, "...Jim!" I hadn't noticed this before, and it might seem like a small thing. But I think it is important. I shows a special level of perception on the writers or production team to write this in. I think Frank would revert to calling him what he had originally know him as under such stressful conditions. It is these kinds of details that make the show special to me.
  14. True appreciation or understanding often requires individual, independent thought, effort, and intuition. Sadly, this is often lacking in most people.
  15. My response to their behaviour would have been much the same as yours. I think MLM does not appeal to pop culture mind as The X-Files and Lost do. That's propably one of the reasons it was cancelled. I think it just goes over the heads of most people or it just cuts life to close to home for them to cope with it. In this sense I am not very surprised by their reaction to MLM. Seems to me like the behaviour of people who joke around about something they can't deal with or don't understand. I am surprised that one of your friends found Frank Black boring! He is such a complex, intense, unusual character! You should be proud to be one of the few who actually "gets" MLM and really loves it. And, if it is any consolation, I am very jealous that you had a 1013 night with friends! I have tried a handful of times to get people together over the past few years to watch TXF or MLM to no avail. For one reason or another it just didn't materialize. I have to say 1013 nights are one of my favourite things.
  16. Thanks ETHsnafu! The second one I thought was much funnier, I thought. I think they even captured the feel (pardon the pun) of the show in the second one, in a pornographic sort of way! LOL
  17. No one wants to hear about this. And I don't blame you. So I have removed what I have written.
  18. OMG! I started this thread 2 and a half years ago! Looks like I am back just in time! I finally saw this a few months ago on youtube! Every now and again, I would do a search for it there, hoping to see it... then suddenly... Anyway, I though it was hillarious. I remember people telling me about it here at tiwwa years ago. And I remember LMAO just hearing about the idea. So I was very glad to finally see it. I don't think they leave one stone unturned as far as spoofing elements of the show. Yes, I am back! And to stay, this time! Did they every do a spoof of The X-Files? Imagine if they did one for Harsh Realm! LOL How about Two and a Half Harsh Men with Pinnochio in replacing Charlie Harper, Hobbes replacing Alan, Florence replacing Jake, and of course Dexter replacing Chester! LOL This is suddenly who we are, Scott
  19. Hello, mate! Hope you and yours are well! I completely agree that if you just substituted MLM characters, it would have easily been an MLM film. I was so happy to see Harsh Realm tie in with Agent Fossa. I always felt that HR should be considered part of the same fic universe as the TXF, TLG, and MLM. Feel free to move this thread to the appropriate forum.
  20. I don't think there is much chance of me every forgetting this place or anyone here!!!
  21. Since I am here at TIWWA tonight, I thought I should put a topic on the table. Here it is. Wasn't the latest X-Files movie a great episode of Millennium?! Or perhaps it just had the best elements of both the X-Files and Millennium all roled into one? Very dark, very wierd science tied into legit science, very atmospheric. It really made me feel like I was watching a Millennium episode. When Skully yelled down the phone saying, "Well get me somebody at the FBI that has some balls!" I half expected Frank to show up in the next scene to assist them - I truly thought it would be Lance's cameo. But, alas it was not to be. Would've been cool though. BTW, it was great to have another subtle tie in to another 1013 show in Agent Fossa! Finally, all the shows tied into the same fictional universe. I was very glad to have this wink to the fans! You guys have probably hashed this one out 100 times over already, but what the hell. What do you think?
  22. Way! "Nobody believed he was real. Nobody ever saw him or knew anybody that ever worked directly for him, but to hear Kobayashi tell it, anybody could have worked for Soze. You never knew. That was his power. The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof. He's gone." It's truly great to be missed! And I have missed you all. Truly, Happy Holidays to you all!
  23. Yes, in the words of Roedecker... "Blast from the past!" Helllo everyone!!! It's the Psycho here to wish everyone a very happy Midnight of the Century "to the best bunch of guys I ever knew!" My wife and I are sitting down to watch Midnight of the Century. I am just thinking of a lot of great times and special memories here at TIWWA. My wife and I wish everyone a great Xmas and a very happy new year!
  24. I was just thinking about posting a similar topic recently! I love hearing folks speculate about what S4 would've been like, what the creators had planned, what fans would have liked to have seen happen or more of. Who was lying on the floor in Peter's house in the S3 finale? Was it Peter, or the Group assassin sent to kill him? Would be have seen Peter turn up at some later point, coming out of hiding to assist Frank? What would Lucy Butler be up to? Would she manage to finally concieve a child again with Frank? What would she do about her implied threat about Jordan at the end of Antipas? Would we see Avatar return to exploit the next venue of human voyerism and masicism? Would Frank finally catch him this time? What would become of Emma? What would become of her ambivelent new candidacy in the Group? How far into the Group would she be drawn in? Would she finally be indoctrinated? Or would her strength of character allow her to use the manipulate the Group, working as a kind of "double agent" for Frank, the Trust, etc. Would Frank finally join the Trust to support and facilitate his efforts? Would he still be able to work of the FBI, or would he have alienated himself or lost all trust in the Bureau? What would become of the Group? Would it fall further into its agenda, disrepute, and schism, as indicated in the X-Files "Millennium" episode? Would Legion manifest itself within the Group in some other way, after Mabius? And would there be another Legion manifestation in general, come back to taunt or tempt Frank? What would the ultimate Legion manifestation, Yaponchik/Antichrist get up to in s4? Would he begin to unite the prophetic "kingdoms" of Eastern and Central Europe and Russia through his powers in the economy of the criminal undergroud/mafia/oligarcy of these nations? How would this play out? These are the possibilities that I have always speculated about and would have liked to have seen played out in some way. What are you thoughts or responses to these questions and speculations?
