You're safer with me on Mt Ventoux. Peaceful, great scenery and no Bucksnort dogs that don't die, or die and get replaced by another.

One of my favorite episodes, although I admit that it's mostly because of the cool title and Brad Dourif. It doesn't really contribute to the mythology of the show(s) and it certainly doesn't scare me like some of the best episodes tend to do. But what it lacks in importance and chills it makes up for in intimacy. The suicide girls and their hand gestures, Hoffman's desperate character, the interview with Ol' Iron Lung, the smiles on the faces of the children and Hoffman as the bus is carrying them to whatever end... It's beautiful I tells ya.
Yes, I tells ya too, this episode is beautiful and also one of my favorites.
Another all-time favorite is the track that's playing while they're getting on the bus. It's track 17 on MIllennium Vol 2 album, called "All His Children." I couldn't get it fast enough when I found out this music was on it for the first time. Yeah, it's posted on YouTube.

I have a converter program that can convert DVDs to different regions. Please let me/us know when a physical copy is available, and where.

Wow, thanks for the link Adept.

Oh my gosh Alex, where did you get the digital? Is it still available?
Did a little research on my computer and I have "Prayer" that is included in a digital copy of The Event Series (Original Soundtrack) (2017), but I didn't see "Suicide Exam," just "sveta_exam." Is "sveta" German for "suicide," and the same track you posted? There's also a "Sveta" track. I'm betting I already have the album, and definitely need to spend some time organizing my music. It's in 3 places on the computer, and need to compare them to what's on CD and what needs to be burned. What a job that will be. Arg.
Yes, these are eerie, creepy, dark tracks, and perfect for this time of year with Halloween on the way.
Thanks again Alex.

What Was The First Sci-Fi TV Show To Enjoy Widespread Internet-based Promotion and Discussion?
1 ~ Babylon 5
2 ~ Star Trek: The Next Generation
3 ~ The X-Files
4 ~ SlidersSpoilerThe X-Files premiered in the fall of 1993 and aired throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. The combination of its sci-fi laced drama, partially serialized format, and a rise to fame that coincided with rising consumer internet use, created a perfect recipe for a highly connected fan base.
In a fashion that, for prior lack of technology intersecting with intense fandom, had never been seen before, fans of the show created the first active online fan community based around a currently airing show. The kind of online fan interactions we now take for granted—discussing past episodes, sharing trivia, debating where future story lines will take the show, etc.—were a prominent part of The X-Files popularity.
In homage to the devotion of fans and the networks they had created to discuss The X-Files, show writers named a minor character in the show after a real life fan. In the episode Alone (which aired on May 6, 2001), viewers are introduced to Agent Leyla Harrison, an agent within the FBI who had become a fan of the often ridiculed “X-Files” unit and was filled with trivia about their cases. Agent Harrison was named after real-world X-Files fan fiction writer and community contributor Leyla Harrison, who had died earlier that year after a long struggle with cancer.

They haven't even started production on season 2 of Taboo, Earthnut. Also Tom Hardy is busy with other projects.
I know, and that is so depressing. Tom Hardy is such an awesome actor.

October 6, 2019 (Confessions of a Killer)
https://www.fbi.gov/news/stories/samuel-little-most-prolific-serial-killer-in-us-history-100619
FBI Seeking Assistance Connecting Victims to Samuel Little’s Confessions
Five years after analysts with the FBI’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP) began linking cases to convicted murderer Samuel Little—and nearly 18 months after a Texas Ranger began to elicit from him a breathtaking number of confessions—the FBI has confirmed Little to be the most prolific serial killer in U.S. history.
Little has confessed to 93 murders, and FBI crime analysts believe all of his confessions are credible. Law enforcement has been able to verify 50 confessions, with many more pending final confirmation.
Little says he strangled his 93 victims between 1970 and 2005. Many of his victims’ deaths, however, were originally ruled overdoses or attributed to accidental or undetermined causes. Some bodies were never found.
“For many years, Samuel Little believed he would not be caught because he thought no one was accounting for his victims,” said ViCAP Crime Analyst Christie Palazzolo. “Even though he is already in prison, the FBI believes it is important to seek justice for each victim—to close every case possible.”
The FBI is asking for the public’s help in matching the remaining unconfirmed confessions. ViCAP, with the support of the Texas Rangers, has provided additional information and details about five cases in hopes that someone may remember a detail that could further the investigation.
If you have any information linked to Little’s confessions, please contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit at tip online at tips.fbi.gov.
(“The FBI believes it is important to seek justice for each victim—to close every case possible.” Christie Palazzolo, ViCAP crime analyst)
In the Words of a Killer: Video Confessions and Case Details
Please note: Samuel Little’s recollection of dates is not always accurate. He also sometimes struggles to remember the exact clothing worn by a victim. Any potential links should not be dismissed based on these two factors alone. The videos of Little contain references to violent acts. Viewer discretion is encouraged. Each video is accompanied by Little’s drawing of the victim.
Unmatched Confession: Miami, Florida, 1971 or 1972
Little recounted that in 1971 or 1972 he met a good-looking, 18- to 19-year-old black male in Miami, Florida. Little said the male presented himself as a woman and was known to Little as Marianne or Mary Ann. Little said Marianne was between 5’6” - 5’7” tall and approximately 140 pounds. Little first met Marianne at a bar known as The Pool or Pool Palace near 17th Avenue in Miami. A few days later, they met again at a bar in Overtown, where Little offered to give her a ride home. Little stated Marianne lived with several other roommates between Brownsville and Liberty City. When they arrived there, one of Marianne’s roommates asked them to buy a can of shaving cream, so they returned to Little’s car—a gold 4-door Pontiac LeMans. Little drove Marianne north on Highway 27 and killed her on a driveway, possibly near a sugarcane field. He then drove further down Highway 27, into the Everglades, and turned down a dirt road that led to a river or a swamp. Little dragged Marianne’s body approximately 200 yards into the thick, muddy water. He does not believe the body was ever found.

I've cut back on a ton of shows and haven't watched any new shows yet. I just don't have the time.
The Walking Dead on Sunday night is the main one, along with Ancient Aliens on the History Channel. Looking forward to The Expanse coming back on the air. The Handmaid's Tale, Mindhunter, and probably The Sinner are all next year.
Looking forward to (Tom Clancy's) Jack Ryan S2 on Nov 1, and The Man in the High Castle final season airs on Nov 15.
Really liked Taboo with Tom Hardy back in 2017, and no word yet on S2.
seesthru ~ The Walking Dead is more character driven than about zombies, even though there's every kind of zombie you could image, except one that flies. That's a frightening thought. It would take a lot of catching up since they are now starting S10.

Regarding what Frank sees, or how, I'm quoting myself from my post in the Pilot forum. This is how I see it with my knowledge of the spirit realm.
QuoteWe are spirits first and foremost, then we have a mind (similar to a computer), a soul (emotions and feelings), and they all reside in a physical body with senses. Frank Black has an ability to tap into the spirit realm, as we all, but his was that he could see through the perpetrator's eyes. But he's looking through the spiritual eyes, and why he would only get bits and pieces, because his ability was not fully developed or understood.
I had this experience myself many times. One time when my youngest son was in the Navy on an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean. In a quiet state of mind and soul, I not only was standing behind him, on the deck, looking out at the horizon, but then for a moment, I was seeing the horizon through his eyes. That is what Frank experiences all the time. The difference is, he never truly understood what and how this was happening to him.
Fear is the complete opposite of love, and fear is what a perpetrator creates before committing his/her evil act. Frank sees this fear because that's what most, if not all, of what killers feed on. The fear validates their power and control.
Also, I think I stated that I don't believe Frank has an actual gift, but that is it an ability anyone can have if they understand it, and work on developing it. The Yakui Indian, Don Juan, not only mastered this ability, but he used to travel in, through, and out of the spirit, just as Jesus did. So yes, Frank was definitely "more than just a very good profiler."
Love the "@lex."

Recently tried to find this album and couldn't. Any suggestions?
Really appreciate this post since most of us don't have a copy and have never heard anything from the album.
Thanks again and again Alex.

Haven't a clue as to why they only produced a certain amount of DVDs. Maybe budget, but the whole idea of this production is to sell it.
I have not heard of a download.
Just read where there's 2 volumes of the soundtrack available, not 1.
What holiday is it?

MLM does go deep into the spirit and emotional realm, and what's really eerie it, most often we can relate to it one way or another. Not necessarily the experiences portrayed, but the character's feelings, reactions, and "when all is said and done." Spiritually speaking, you are in for a treat.
Try not to drag it out too long. The first time just watch the show and enjoy it, then go back and watch it a second time, and it will blow you away as to things you will see and hear that you missed the first time. After all these years, I am still being introduced to things they threw in.

Adept, excellent insight into the show and this 1st episode.
All of us here believe that MLM was the perfect show and everyone else just follows in its shadow. It truly is one of the best shows that have ever aired, and the fan base just keeps growing. Everything about it is sensational, including Mark Snows awesome, perfect music in every scene. I could listen to his music all day.

Without question, MLM had some of the best actors ever to bring out the emotions of every character. And no matter how many people may dislike a particular episode(s), they all are better than most that have aired since then, and those that even air today. Nowadays it seems like producers are grabbing at straws to come anywhere close to being as good as MLM.

and our home away from home. Hope to see you here often.
I have read where Blu-Ray copies are sold out, but since there will be a signing in California on Oct 20, there might be more available then since they are hoping to have more in stock soon. Here's the store link where the signing will be held, and has been selling the video for 20.00 (US) ~
https://www.darkdel.com/store/p1207/Sat%2C_Oct_20th_4_pm%3A_Millennium_After_the_Millennium_BR.html
The only other place I know of that sells it is at the main site, here's that link ~
https://thetimeisnowmm.com/mm/
There is also a soundtrack available, but sadly the music is not by Mark Snow, it's by Matthew Gatsos. I'm sure the music will be good, but no one can top Mark in my book. The album is in stock.

Oh my, give me dark chocolate, with some caramel in the middle.
Seriously, I don't mind just 3 seasons because I have closure before a decade passes me by. Some shows are just too long and we get burned out from them. I do however, which MLM had at least one more season, but in a way, we did have closure with Frank and Jordan driving off into the sunset. Or was it sunrise?

Wow, just listened to this album yesterday, and the day before. Love it.
Thanks Alex.

Watched the first episode. It was one badly written show full of bad cliches. I don't think I'm coming back for this one
Didn't watch ep 1 and now I probably won't. Trying to cut back on TV series. Thanks for the review.

Yep, setting all we're discussed about language and words, it is a very good show.

Yes, very dark and brooding, plus I totally agree that the female vocal is haunting, yet it's beautiful at the same time. That's Mark Snow for ya.
Thanks Alex.

Being hard to learn is also said about English, but since it's the only language I speak, besides baby talk, I haven't a clue. Did a search and this is what I came up with ~
The Hardest Languages For English Speakers- Mandarin Chinese. Interestingly, the hardest language to learn is also the most widely spoken native language in the world. ...
- Arabic. ...
- Polish. ...
- Russian. ...
- Turkish. ...
- Danish
The 20 Most Difficult Languages in the World to Learn
- Polish. ...
- Navajo. ...
- Greek. ...
- Korean. ...
- Mandarin. ...
- Japanese. ...
- Cantonese. The tones in Mandarin make it a challenge for English speakers, but Cantonese has twice as many tones as Mandarin—eight in total. ...
- Arabic. To learn Arabic, you have to learn a new alphabet, and get used to reading from right to left.
- ETC at https://bestlifeonline.com/most-difficult-languages/
Very surprised that German is not on the list.

That's what makes Mark Snow so good. His music fits every screen and becomes part of the scene, sometimes to the point where you don't even notice it. My favorite part of this track starts at :58, and what was playing when they were boarding the bus. It took many years for this track to be on an album, and it wasn't until recently that it was. That is a long time.
