You know, I have often thought that this would have made for great subject matter for a MLM sub-plot/mytharc, or at a minimum it would have great for at least one episode.  I mean, the biblical code had MLM written all over it (pardon the pun)!

I am glad you posted this.  I have thought about doing so myself, from time to time, but just never went ahead and did it.

The cryptic side of the Bible has many attractive features. However I would not put much interest in it because of the successive traductions it had through the centuries. We should even refer to the Bible as ''put a name here'' Bible, according to the translation. From Greek to Latin to whatever language, the choice of word used to replace original words with different possible meanings has always distorted the text, even if only a little. That could have been a real nightmare: mind you, even in ancient Greek, the same word or construction can have a different meaning in regard to the time it was written or even the geographical region where it was written. The best dictionaries are those which give the different translations, but you really need to be a big scholar to go that far. Mix that with traduction works of a symbolic text, and you could well totally miss the spot.

I'm also surprised Bible code was never used in MM storylines, even peripherally. Or in X-Files, for that matter. It would have fit in nicely with the arc in the seventh season.

I think the idea would suit Indiana Jones-like stories more than X-F. Veritas could also have got something from it, could have been nice...
