Yes, I don't want to come across as totally humourless. Maybe it was being compared to a conservative in one of the options that got me!

Guys, I find it difficult to "side" with either faction. For me Millennium was a creative collective involving the actors, writers and directors, spiced with a generous sprinkling of Zeitgeits. Imagine what we might be seeing if the series had continued through 911 and the decade that has followed. Plus, the essays in the "Back to Frank Black" book on the transition from Carter to Season 2 suggest something of a "reunification" where Chris Carter "saw" and recognised what the season 2 writers were trying to do and even Lance himself came around to an appreciation of its direction despite his oft-quoted frustrations.

But hell, what do I know? I'm just an oldtime rooster!
