great pictures engine comics what did you mean by millennium comic

Thanks Colt,

I've been wanting to do a Millennium comic book for the last couple of years but because of my other committments not had a chance to sit down and plan it out. Recently I did have some time spare, and I was thinking of how a story set in the present day could develop from what we saw in season 3, but diverging from the virtual seasons and other previous fan endeavours. The idea never left me and like an itch I needed to scratch, I started doing some sketches.

Just to make clear, this isn't an official licensed comic book (though I would certainly love to work on such a thing), nor is it in anyway connected/endorsed by the powers that be, but something for my own amusement and something I hope other fans would enjoy as a 'what might have been'.

The problem with 'tie in' comics are usually that the art rarely looks anything like the series, in terms of character representation or in atmosphere. What I'm intending to do and what will take a very long time, is to adapt the cinematography, the mood and atmosphere of the series, as well as drawing photorealistic characters. If anyone is familiar with comics I'm aiming for an Alex Ross level of realism, painted in watercolours. So I'm heavily referencing screen caps from the series. Whether or not I can pull it off, time will tell.

At the moment I have a outline of a story, but not an actual script to work from. That is the area I do need help with. Format wise, it will be at a ratio to be shown on a computer monitor as it will be a free online comic, rather than the US format or magazine format. So when its all finished, you can sit back, put on a bit of Mark Snow music and hopefully get a sense that your reading an episode of Millennium from an alternate universe where it was never cancelled.

As a tester, I'm doing a painting to give to Lance and Megan at the convention in Milton Keynes, and I'll post the artwork I'm doing afterwards which is a sort of 'Previously on Millennium' recap of 'Goodbye to All That'. As much as I would like to do this full time, I do have a day job as well, so t will take sometime to do. An average fully painted 32 page comic can take anywhere from 9 months to a year to finish.

If anyone would like to help out on the scripting side, please let us know.

EDIT: As it turns out, AINT IT COOL has just announced a series of comics based on the film SE7EN, charting the last days of John Doe. Looks like theres something in the air for serial killer comics....
