New Foley Instant Messages; Had Internet Sex While Awaiting House Vote

Ordinarily I wouldn't post something like this, but I wanted to make a point. This is a classic example of news for the sake of sensationalism. There's plenty of other events happening that deserve report and analysis so this comes across as just another attempt to out-do the other news outlets.

There is no longer discretion in news.

The way that ABC has published pretty much every bit of information they've received is irresponsible. Yes, Foley did a horrible thing, and yes, he deserves to be called out on it, but I don't need to read illicit transcripts to understand what happened.

Media outlets need to report the news. "Mark Foley exchanged a series of communiques with young pages that were extremely sexual in nature" would suffice.

"If it bleeds it leads" needs to be revised to just say "anything goes."
