.....Henriksen has stated,in interview, that the zipping/buttoning up was intentional and part of it was sort of Frank's way of bracing himself,emotionaly, for the crime scene as much as for any potential forensic reasons.

Since this topic has found closure on a topic a few degrees removed from the original post, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on Peter Watts' wardrobe.

Specifically, what kind of jacket is the dark blue wool waist-length jacket he wears all the time?

The unofficial guides mention this. It would appear that it has more to do with not contaminating the crime scene than with any phsycological 'barriers'.
