Elders (Moderators) Libby Posted September 17, 2009 Elders (Moderators) Share Posted September 17, 2009 It's the MillenniuM episode i've seen the most times and it's absolutely brilliant. I merely love it. It's funny and so serious and dark in the same time. My favorite part of the episode is the one with the fat guy who's "livin' a so called normal life" and "the torments he puts himself through for the sake of such a life". So eloquent and right to the point. " Hoc est qui sumus " Welcome to the board! Good to see you've already done your Latin homework. As you say, this is an exceptional episode in terms of the combination of funny and dark, and I like what it says about us humans from a completely different perspective. There simply is no question about it. Darin Morgan is the greatest unparalleled genius in the universe and no one can ever come close. Yep, he has an exquisite and incisive perspective on humanity. I'm not at all surprised that he found the whole process of writing such an exhausting process, and one that he ran away from for a while. He has been attached to a couple of shows since XF/MM, but nothing came of that. That's a pity for us, as it would be good to get another Darin Morgan episode, no matter which show. Guest byron lomax
This episode is very funny but not my favorite Darin Morgan script. The scenes with the four demons in the cafe were fantastic, the first two stories were enjoyable (if not spectacular), and the fourth was the highlight of the episode. The third story really jarred for me, though; it was too over the top and overstayed its welcome. Overall I rank this second-lowest of Darin Morgan's episodes (of both XF and MLM), but since most of the episode is great that just shows what a talented writer Darin is (or was).
