Guest Pencil Machine Operator
I spotted this a while ago and always meant to post it: the news that Snow is working on (or has finished?) a new film with arthouse legend Alain Resnais. Resnais was a big influence on the french new wave back in the 60's (Truffaut, Godard, etc.); anyway here's a link with samples of Snow's score... https://www.aintitcool.com/node/24323 Oh, and here's a link to a somewhat less prestigious Mark Snow project: his soundtrack to Ernest saves christmas (!). https://soundtracksharity.blogspot.com/2006...-mark-snow.html (full album for download) Edited February 7, 2007 by Pencil Machine Operator
Elders (Admins) The Old Man Posted February 7, 2007 Elders (Admins) Share Posted February 7, 2007 Excellent, thanks for that PMO! Great to see Mark working on new projects. By the way, he does brilliant scores to Smallville too!
Guest betweenthelines
Great work from Mark! The samples I listened to are very reminiscent of his work on "The X-Files", only not so... moody.
Guest Pencil Machine Operator
Great work from Mark! The samples I listened to are very reminiscent of his work on "The X-Files", only not so... moody. heh, exactly. I think the the writer at the link is dead right about Snow's rather untapped talents; the score to TXF movie was one of the best things about it, and I'm surprised he wasn't immediately the most in-demand composer in the biz. I've read up on the French movie, and it seems it's simply a light comedy-drama kind of thing - pity, because I was thinking Snow had finally gotten a chance to let loose on an offbeat indie project (like he did with some of the MLM s2 eps).
