I´ve just read the poll "Favourite executive producer for a season 4". Just imagine Darin Morgan doing it, I can´t believe that he isn´t listed. Changing the shows name to "MillenniuM: The next MillenniuM" :grin2: In the first episode Frank falls asleep and he dreams about being Rocket MacGrane. Then he carries on solving cases together with Jose Chung, who actually is alive again in his dreams. Selphosophy takes over the MillenniuM Group, making Peter Watts her new leader spreading Goopta´s word. Legion is kicked out and beaten up by Rocket MacGrane, never seen again. In the last episode Frank wakes up, wondering what a strange dream he just had. I can´t even guess what cases Rocket MacGrane and Jose Chung could solve, perhaps it has something to do with four demons... :grin2:

"No, I don´t neither."

Darin Morgan isn't that prolific of a writer. He only wrote four X-Files episodes spread over two seasons, and only two episodes of MLM. I just don't know if the quality of his stuff would hold up for an entire season. I also like the notion that Darin's episodes are more of an interesting detour or break from the overall grimness of both series. I must admit, though, he is probably my favorite 1013 writer.

Of course he would not write every single episode of the season, but he could get some other fine authors and directors into the show. I think Mark Frost would be an interesting choice. He co-created, co-executive-produced and co-wrote Twin Peaks with David Lynch. After all this darkness making the show a little bit more upbeat :grin2: ...after all it is just Frank´s dream. Seeing how great this worked Glen Morgan and James Wong will return for Season 5, bringing Frank back into the "real" world. This convinces FOX and they apologies to Chris Carter for letting him down after season 1, so Carter can start working on season 6...oh my God, I think the pills are losing their impact... :p

Having Darin Morgan as exec would be the worst kind of nightmare; I seem to be alone in thinking that he is vastly, vastly overrated as a writer. His work had two highlights (Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose and Jose Chung's Doomsday Defence - both very similar to each other...) and I absolutely hated all his other episodes. He ruined Season Three of the X-Files completely for me and I was glad to see him leave quite frankly.

:eyes: Oh, man. I think if anything he's underated. I love his work on both shows. "War of the Coprophages" being the only mediocre episode of his. I think this stuff is genius and I'm not using that word lightly. As for executive producing? I don't think that would be best idea in the world. But I love the scripts he's written. Hilarious and insightful.

Absolutely right,

"hilarious and insightful", but I think Morgan himself would probably snigger if you said that to him! But, truth is, his eps WERE insightful, and often moving (the last act of "Somehow Satan" springs to mind). That's what made his X-files episodes so much better than the Vince Gilligan attempts. Gilligan's eps were funny, but overall just hollow.

Wasn't Darin Morgan "consulting producer" for a lot of season 2 of Millenium? I think he wouldn't be a bad exec; I'd definitely trust him not to turn the series into a farce.

I like Vince Gilligan too. A lot actaully. He's not as dark. I think he knows the characters very well and they're usually character driven. They more, and I use this word very rarely but I think it fits... "cheeky." :smokin:

I also think that Darin is nothing short of brilliant. He has ideas and characterization that are so amazingly fresh. All the X-Files and Millennium shows he wrote were outstanding...and in some cases, astounding.

His style was ripped up on both Millennium (the lousy '...thirteen years later') and The Others (the disappointing one with James Morrison as the psychic, in which Darin took a supporting part), and proved that he's the only that has that touch.

Alas for us fans, he's a lazy b******* (which he admits), and hates working. A damn shame, because he's one of the best writers to work on TV in the last ten years, right up there with guys like Tom Fontana and David E. Kelley.

I've waited for him to make a return to TV or work on a movie, but damnit, nothing. COME ON, Darin!!
