I'll rent the DVD set because I have sadistic tendencies, but there's no chance in hell I'd buy it.

that's why i love netflix. i'm in the middle of season 8 and it's tollerable, but not great. i really think they just needed to let scully go and start a new XF series with doggett. although, after 8 seasons, i'd think it'd be difficult to find new ground that hasn't been covered in the previous 7. which by the comments here, season 9 didn't do a good job of.
