That's fun, Joe. One guy did get the trade centers being taken down, didn't he? I guess that is how a lot of prophesy works. Say enough stuff and some of it is bound to come true. The historical improbability of Israel being a nation again does make me believe that the Bible does give great hints about the end of the world as we know it. But wow, can people get it all twisted up and wrong! I think it is fairly obvious that Israel is in the middle of a great conflict, and it's not hard to see this leading to World War III and the near destruction of us all. What do you think?

Hippyroo...you are absolutely correct...if you fling enough crap against the wall, some of it will stick..remember there are many false prophets walking amongst us that if allowed to, will decieve even the most true believer....we seem to live with the dictum that you can fool most of the people all of the time...you CANNOT claim to be a prophet unless you are 100% accurate every single time...otherwise you're just a crap slinger....

in regards to your other questions...without a doubt the rebirth of the Nation of Israel in 1947 was the single greatest testimony that events are coming to fruition..Matthew 24: 32-34 says "

"Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near; at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take

place."

The Fig Tree is the Biblical Emblem or symbol of the nation Israel

Matthew 24:36 says " But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

Now, a generation in the Bible is 40 years, it has been said that the generation that saw the re-birth of the Israel nation shall be the last generation..the 40 years may have nothing to do with an actual event, perhaps it indicates that those ALIVE during the repatriation of Israel in 1947 would be the last...i will have to do some more research, although end times is a favorite of mine, i am a bit rusty..

Isn't another sign supposed to be the rebuilding of the temple, that will be the final temple, in Jerusalem? I thought the temple is supposed to be where the Dome of the Rock, which is Islamic, now sits.

I've seen some analyses of the prophecies that think that Judaism will finally win out over Islam and control of Jerusalem will be complete. Then the final days will arrive as the "kings of the North" decide to attack Israel in support of their now-defeated Muslim allies.

My memory on some details is a bit rusty also so I may be misremembering the details. Can anyone clarify?

Yes, 1967 is another date used to define the re-patriation of Israel to its homeland...however, MOST Biblical scholars and believers feel that 1947 is the "truer" date due to the following:

1. League of Nation's Mandate for Palestine in 1922 which came into play after WW1 and was put directly under British control. Its mandated that the British recognize the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to prepare for rebuilding their national home in that country..

2. The UN Partition Plan or as others have called it United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181, which served as the foundation for the Israeli Declaration of Independence supported the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine..

Dates are relatively unimportant, what IS important is that it HAS happened....trying to "guess" is missing the importance of the event....dont get caught up in saying 40 years from 1967 to now makes this a good year...the 40 year reference was Biblical, yes, however, if 1947 WAS the year then 1987 should have been the fulfillment of events...obviously it wasn't, but that does not make the prophecy any less significant...there are other factors at work here that can either accelerate or delay the occurrence of events...
