Guest SouthernCelt
I guess the RFID microchip tagging of average people isn't moving fast enough for some folks so they're coming up with new ways to keep up with you if you attend this college: Montclair State Unveils Mandatory 'School Phone' I don't like the fact that all cell phones now have geotracking capability so that our paranoid government can locate you. Now others are getting in on the act and from what the article says, they've got the students convinced that it's a good thing because it offers "security". I'll bet whatever's left of old Ben Franklin is whirling like a blender over the idea that psuedo security is better than freedom from unwanted or unwarranted surveillance. Guest Sinestro
I think it is just a small stride in the short walk to the days when The Abomination that causes Desolation reigns his short, but appointed, reign of literal terror. These tracking devices will start becoming more and more mandatory, just like the cash-less society. "He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name. This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666" Rev. 13:16-18. I believe this "mark" is indeed some sort of microchip, like everyone of the so called "kooks" and "over zealous crazies" have always been osctricized for claiming. For decades some have thought it was Social Security numbers. In Canada it is called Social Insurance Number, SIN. Do you think many people are going to resist? Will they rationalize and justify the easy course? Do you think the mark will be universal (China, India, Cuba, Israel)?
Guest Byron
Do you think the mark will be universal (China, India, Cuba, Israel)? Well mobile phones are universal. They could be seen as the "mark" in some sense. It does unnerve me quite a bit at times knowing that all my messages, calls and location can be tracked through my phone. hippyroo
So ...you usually have the phone in your hand or near your head.. right? Whatever form the mark takes you have to choose to have it, but will you be so dulled by enjoying life (Somehow Satan Got Behind Me) that you will just take it on as another means to satisfy your personal wants? I can certainally see over the horizon that I might not be allowed to trade or sell without some sort of number for the computer... hope the underground will take silver coins? Guest SouthernCelt
... hope the underground will take silver coins? Well, the doomsday predictors (economic not Second Coming types) have been saying since the 60s that when a free society begins to fall under more rigorous regulation of daily activity, the "underground" economy and citizenry will grow and it will be predicated on a silver standard for money simply because silver is more plentiful than gold in the general population. If you don't have silver then you'll have to barter for all your purchases. Guns and cartridges are another "marketable" means of exchange, which, of course, the US has been trying to regulate severely since the beginnings of the old BATF. So ...you usually have the phone in your hand or near your head.. right? Unrelated here, but cell phones make the news again. Why, oh why, do researchers post as God's own Truth the opinions drawn from minimally-sized survey groups? Heavy cell phone use tied to poorer sperm quality
