Guest I Made This
I agree wholeheartedly. I was surprised that some many responded to the second film with calls for more effects and more bangs and whistles as that was never what the show was about. Not for me anyway. I hope that if XF3 goes ahead then it is a very personal story that shows M&S's reaction to the unleashing of a pandemic designed to effect to colonisation. Something akin to The Fourth Horseman and The Time Is Now would be very welcome in my opinion. Eth Wow, nicely put and a very interesting way to possibly conceive of a third X Files movie. I had no problems with either move it has to be said. I adored the big bangs and blockbuster feel of the first movie and even enjoyed the more low key scale of terror in the second. Truthfully, I had grown a little tired of the torture porn cycle of the horror genre in the 2000s, what with the endless Saw sequels (which ironically spawned from a very interesting and entertaining first instalment) and the two Hostel movies and I have to say I loved Chris and Frank for delivering an emotionally intelligent horror thriller that took stock in great characters and story telling. It's definitely an underrated gem if you ask me.
