Play.com are now taking orders on the DVD and Blu-Ray Disc with a projected release date of November 24th for the UK.

Play are offering some exclusive artcards with their orders, and there will be a version of the DVD with a bonus digital copy of the film which comes as standard with the Blu-Ray Disc. Click on the links for details:

I kind of hope this is not the final artwork though... not that it would be a really big deal, but I'd like something slicker.

It's not. What you see on Play.com is just a temporary placeholder.

Well I can see that it says: *Artwork Subject To Change

But the image has the Director's cut mention... so they obviously didn't just use the poster as a placeholder. It either came from FOX or they just added the mention themselves (I'd wonder why). Anyway, I'll wait for something official before I start complaining.

Someone, somewhere (be that Play.com staff or the distributor) has added it in. You can tell it's only a placeholder and not final from the flat logo rendering and absence of relevant icons.

Having said that, it doesn't necessarily mean that the ultimate design of the cover wont follow the basic template of the poster with text overlays. That's still a possibility, and I agree it wouldn't be ideal. But whatever happens, it wont look precisely as you see it there.
