Millenium: the movie part I

Guest Laurent.

Has anybody seen the first part of the Millenium trilogy (based on the Stieg Larsson novels)?

I had heard a lot of buzz about the novels (which are especially popular in Sweden and France.. and when France loves something, the buzz always reaches Québec) and I really wasn't disappointed by the movie!

It's a great thriller and of course Millenniumistic. Offers one of the darkest view of the Swedish society that I've ever seen; every form of human evil is incorporated in an amazingly constructed plot.

Recommended for all MM fans!

The end of the movie sucked.

It's a totally different project, but amazingly enough, they share a lot more than the name. The atmosphere, subjects and themes are very similar: just replace the apocalyptic tones of MM by light politico-economic flavors.

I strongly recommend it to all of you. It got pretty close to become the best thriller I've ever seen, but something just left an awkward taste. Anyway, there's two more movies to come so you better get started now (if it plays in theaters near you)!
