Elders (Moderators) Libby Posted July 12, 2004 Elders (Moderators) Share Posted July 12, 2004 From "Order in Chaos": David Nutter (director, pilot episode) said: When we showed the pilot to the woman from Standards and Practices, she watched the pilot and felt it was fine. There was nothing exorbitant and/or gratuitous about it. But the problem was this: that night, she went home and she had nightmares. And the next morning she called Chris Carter up and said, “You know, you gotta cut some stuff, cos it’s really, it’s really, it’s too aggressive and it’s not correct.” And Chris really held her to task saying, “Listen, do not penalise us for getting under your skin. Do not penalise us for doing it in a way that affects you emotionally after the fact. Do not penalise us in a way that will cause us not to want to reach higher and to reach deeper into someone’s soul.” And we didn’t really have to change anything in the pilot, which was a great thing. ------------------- I often wondered how much of a battle 1013 had with S&P. Maybe getting the essential points over to them right at the beginning was an important factor.
