Has anyone from the US here seen a drama comedy (I'll have to correct it if it isn't both a drama and comedy series) series called Life UneXpected, which airs on The CW on Monday nights at 8 pm EST? I hadn't heard about it until a few weeks ago from the Zap2it TV ratings news articles for Monday night's primetime telly. I've read some good comments on the ratings threads there, and it's getting around 2 million viewers. Hopefully The CW will pick it up for a second season, as it sounds like a promising new show. I haven't read anything yet about it being picked up by a UK station/channel yet. The show's synopsis is the following (source: it's EpGuides.com page): "A teenage girl in foster care discovers her previously unknown birth parents".

Still no word on whether Life Unexpected as been picked up by The CW for a second season yet. But they should do. It's been getting consistent ratings of 2 million viewers each week. I think there are only 13 episodes at the moment, and these finish this month.

I for one have not heard of it. I watch very few TV series anymore. Not sure what I'm going to do on Monday nights with 24 being in its last season. Let us know more about this new series. I will check it out. Thanks for the info.

This is the EpGuides.com page for Life Unexpected Darlene:

I use TV.com more than TV Rage.com. It changes on EpGuides.com. Sometimes when you go onto a TV show's page it says "...by this TV Rage editor", and other times it's "...by this TV.com editor". I find the TV.com pages are easier to read.

Life Unexpected kept steady last night and got 1.8 million viewers again for it's season finale. Still no word yet on whether the show will be renewed for a second season, but there is an article on Zap2it where the creator of the show answers questions about what she'd like to see in a second season. The URL link to the Zap2it interview article is below:

The premise doesn't exactly grip me I have to say. What's the pitch for this show? Is it an emotionally driven drama, rom-com etc. All I've read seems to talk about a girl finding her birth parents which seems an unambitious idea on which to found a, hopefully, long running and successful show.

Couple of bits of news -

1.) I hadn't read anything about Life Unexpected having been bought by a UK channel/station, but around a week ago I saw in a magazine that it was on E4 on Sunday nights. They've shown the first couple of episodes from the second season before tomorrow night's new (to the UK) episode. It's on Sunday nights at 7 pm.

2.) Also out of nowhere is news of a Region 1 DVD release of the first season. It's being released on Tuesday 4th January, 2011. Below is the URL link to a TVShowsOnDVD news article about the Region 1 release:
