Are You Ready for Fall TV?

I'm looking forward to the alien invasion series that's coming from the pen of Steven Spielberg and stars Noah Whylie in the lead role. When last I heard, the show has still not got a title though I read it had been given the OK for ten episodes to be shown on TNT (I think that's the name of the channel). Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

To me, none of them look as good as the new show on NBC called "The Event." my post on it with a trailer.

I've discovered the Spielberg show is called "Falling Skies" folks and features a world that has been colonised by Aliens in which the ordinary man and woman are the only resistance against them. It would seem viral marketing for the show has already begun with something that looks very much like it could be an ARG. Check out the website for 2ndmass to have a look at it.

Eth, I was excited when I read about the show with an alien invasion but as soon as I saw that site I thought, V. Hoping it turns out well though!

Looking forward to Fringe S3, Stargate Universe S2 (that show is dark!) and I'm currently enjoying Smallville S9 on E4HD. The recent 2 parter about the retired superheroes from the 70's was absolutely superb, with wonderful characters, the episodes had real depth and the it felt afterwards like I'd watched a film. Callum Blue as Zod is a great actor, I hate him but I'm intrigued by him and guest Michael Shanks played his finest role yet. So roll on the last season, I will be very upset when S10 finishes. Smallville dare I say it, strikes the same amazing balance between light and dark that Millennium had (excluding the obvious violence of MLM).

There's a distinct lack of quality shows now, since The Shield, The Sopranos, The Wire, 24 and Lost have gone. Just a big empty void stretching in front. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there are some really good, well written and interesting shows to come. Somebody please save television from endless cheap talent shows and relentless CSI spin-offs.

Stargate Universe eh chief? Now I'm disappointed I didn't give it a chance. I never got along with the other Stargate shows and I'm not particularly a fan of Amanda Tapping's work so I expected this might be more of the same but I am told it is much closer to the new "Battlestar Galactica" than what has come before it. I was actually surprised when Robert Carlyle took the role to be honest as I didn't think it would be the sort of thing he would have done. Maybe I need to check it out.
