Has anybody here been following the series 'Lie To Me' starring Tim Roth? Daniel Sackheim is exec producing, so there's your Millennium connection.

Its a terrific show, imo, and while very different from Millennium, I'm finding it invites comparisons between its lead character Dr. Cal Lightman and Frank

Black.

Plus, there's Time Roth. That's awesome enough right there no?

Haven't seen the show yet though.

I haven't seen it either but it was recommended to me recently by two chums of mine who have been following it avidly. I like Tim's work immensely and let this slip me by by not realising he was in it otherwise I probably would have been there from the get-go. I did read recently that it had shed around three million viewers from the first season average to the second so I guess the third season could well be make or break for the show if the trend continues.

I'm going to keep an eye out for it mind as my friends really did gush about it.

BEER---> It's a good program. Roth plays a cocky guy with an ex and daughter. His 'Team' is good and the stories are unique.

Just saw a movie called 'The Legend of 1900', staring Roth. He was excellent.

Yes, Lie To Me is a very good show, very enthralling, and educational.

"The Legend of 1900" is one of my favorite movies, but very hard to get your hands on a copy. I had to order mine online because I couldn't find it at any local store. Yes, Tim Roth was excellent in this movie, and I was also very impressed with the performance of the trumpet player, Pruitt Taylor.

Another thing that impressed me was the exceptional talent on the piano, by Tim Roth and Clarence Williams III. I'm pretty sure they did their own playing in it. It was just too good to be an act.

Still trying to save the funds to get the soundtrack. It and the movie are beyond exceptional. :notworthy:

Been on a Tim Roth kick since this show has been on the air. He's done a load of movies! Most recently saw him as Hanussen in Werner Herzog's 'Invincible.' Favorite film role is still probably in Rob Roy.

I said that his character Cal Lightman invites comparisons with Frank Black. Both are fierce individualists, passionately devoted to truth. But while Frank is a straight arrow, Lightman dances that slippery slope of ethics and morality with relish.

Since LOST ended, Lie To Me has become my favorite tv drama.

Without wishing to deviate from the subject matter too much can I recommend Roth's debut movie to you all, "Made In Britain". It is an astonishing performance by Roth and one which isn't all that well known. It centres of the skinhead culture in Thatcherite Britain and is an honest, stark and bleak portrayal of those times and what I love about the film is not simply Roth's superb performance but the fact that he secured the role but wandering into theatre during auditions for the film looking for a bicycle pump. Destiny put him in the exactly the right place at the right time quite my chance.

I do hope you guys will see if you can track it down.

Welcome to the forum.

Not seen any of Lie to Me, but I have from time to time looked at how it's been doing in the ratings on FOX. It's kind of in the middle somewhere with low to high ratings.
