Central Oklahoma jolted by 4.3-magnitude earthquake

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck central Oklahoma this morning at 9 AM. It centered 5 miles east of Norman and 20 miles south-southeast of Oklahoma City at 3.1 miles deep. The closer a quake's epicenter is to the Earth's surface, the more shaking it can cause.

I live in the NW part of the city. It felt more like an explosion then an earthquake where I am. I was in the California earthquake of 1971, and it felt very different then this today. It's the largest one in Oklahoma history. Hope it's the last one too. Isn't there usually a volcano acting up somewhere after an earthquake?

Wonder if The Group knew about it ahead of time.

BEER---> Just like old times, huh. I hope there weren't any injuries to life or limb. It is earthquake weather out here in beautiful Southern California right now. Hot during the day and cooling way down at night.

BEER---> Yes, been there, and though never again, but oh was I wrong. It's the same here, hot, cool, hot, cool, and the biggest we've ever had. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come. Love replying to your posts, it's fun. :swingin:.
