Guest Darkshow
I posted a photo years ago of a Trailer Explosion taken by a teamster.(can't remember his name) and thought you might like to see the video. The location was in North Vancouver just east of Iron Workers Memorial Bridge. The trailer had 4 48" mortars filled with petrol and broken up Donnacona board. You can see the pieces in the air. There was 2 or three Pan mortars also. The roof was cut around it's perimeter on 3 sides so it would open up like a tin can. Timing of explosions were controlled by a digital firing box. The SPFX coordinator was very accomplished at explosions. Who doesn't like a big "Bang"? The photo was taken directly beside me. Coordinator is standing in center and one assistant to his right with his fingers in his ears. This demonstrates to the film crew that everything is safe. Lunatics! But that's what it takes to do Special Effects.
