Elders (Moderators) Libby Posted June 22, 2011 Elders (Moderators) Share Posted June 22, 2011 I found this story to be really creepy. There's nothing intrinsically wrong in a relationship where there's a significant age difference, but in this case he's of an age to be a grandfather and she wouldn't have yet graduated from high school. Presumably her age is correct, although I don't know what paperwork would have been required for the marriage licence. As for her being "a good Christian girl"; I wouldn't rate her parents' assessment very highly as they don't seem to be particularly sensible parents. Earthnut
I agree with her not looking 16. Maybe she has a lot of mileage.
Walkabout
accually a 100 yrs ago this was very common. older men had property and money and could provide security for young girls and they would have children during the bodys most optimum time to have children unlike today.

Elders (Admins) The Old Man Posted June 25, 2011 Elders (Admins) Share Posted June 25, 2011 (edited) LOL, Mr President! 16 is awfully young and although she is definitely still a child and not an adult, I say good luck and congratulations to the happy couple! I hope it works out. Edited June 25, 2011 by The Old Man
