The Thing

Recommended Posts

just saw ' Thing from another world' on tv. the first time I saw it I was just a kid and had nightmares for many nights. never saw the Kirt Russell version. would see this version if getting out was easier.

BEER---> Ya gotta rent John Carpenter's 'The Thing'. It is a classic IMHO. I've got the VHS and the DVD of it. Of course I'm nuts for Carpenter. Anybody catching AMC this month, George Romero is doing some naratives between movies. OOOO! It's always good to have October to roll around.

EARTH----> Oh BEER, you used the word, "nuts," I'm touched. LOL

Is "Thing from Another world" any good?

The original "The Thing" is awesome and I for one haven't seen it in many years. Time to see it again. BELCH

The 1982 version is posted on YouTube in at least 10 parts. Here's the 1982 theatrical trailer.

Saw the 1982 movie again, and I just don't see how it can be topped. I will eventually see the new one, but in no hurry. It's probably less intense and has more gore. Blood, guts and gore are not my cup of tea. I can handle a little, but some movies have it all the way through and go to such extremes.

I can't believe Carpenter's The Thing is 30 years old tomorrow.
