By putting users and passwords on a Word document, I can copy and paste them, rather than someone copying my keystrokes on the keyboard.  Plus, they're in 2 places, on paper and on the computer.  Hackers usually go after programs, things that are .exe (executable), that actually do something, and what plays havoc on the computer.  Simple document files  are usually of no interest, but programs can have very important information in them.  That's why I would never use a program to save my passwords.  You can even title your document different, something unrelated to user names and passwords, like poems, baby talk, cat breeds, or whatever strikes you, but nothing that could be seen as personal, and of course you can lock it with a password to open it, something you would remember and not need to write down.
