Daniel/Daneel Olivaw

This is a bit of an odd bit of trivia, but I was reading something today and the name "Daneel Olivaw" caught my eye.

Daneel Olivaw was the name of a robot in Isaac Asimov's books.

If you recall the episode "A Single Blade of Grass", the body that was discovered in the building site, and whose face was covered by a mask, was identified as "Daniel Olivaw".

Given that Kay Reindl, at least, is a fan of science fiction, I wonder whether there was supposed to be some kind of connection there.
