Simon, since my CDs are still in boxes I can't check my Promo CD, but trust me, I truly believe that if "All His Children" were on it, I would have remembered, and wouldn't be so excited about Vol 2 having it. I keep playing it over and over again in my car, and since I make copies for my car, I don't have to worry about wearing the CD out, I will just burn a new one. I am really hooked on that track.

OMG, I Just remembered that I do have a Promo CD in WMP, and there is one track from Force Majeure, 5:19 min, listening to it now. Nope, it's not the same one. It's beautiful, as always, but doesn't have the "getting on the bus" jingle that I am addicted to. This track doesn't have a title either, just the episode name.

Alex, again you have blessed me and made my day. I only have a few X-File CDs, and not all of Mark Snow's other tracks, more MLM then anything, so it's always like a present every time I click your posts and see what I get to hear that day. Thank you again and again.

Hey, guess what, I just figured out how to upload a track from my P C. Here's "All His Children." The problem is you have to save it to your computer to listen to it in WMP. Not sure how to convert it to a different format to post here.

Sorry Simon. I have the two tracks from Alex that he shared, but no episode titles. There's a possibility he put some of that track on it, and I'm listening to them now, as I have them on the computer, but sure I would have remembered if "All His Children" were on it after hearing them the first time.

Alex, do you know which episodes are on each of these tracks? I may have more of your music on CDs, but need to open the box to find out. I so need to get those boxes emptied.

Which two tracks do you mean, Darlene? And no, Simon, as Darlene already said, the track on the first Promo CD is not the "All his children" cue. But it's similar to it, it has the piano theme at the beginning, but all the percussive stuff, that comes later, is missing from this cue. I guess it's from a different scene. Due to a good friend of mine, who already has gotten his Volume 2 CD, I was able to listen to the new music on that set. There are some tracks on it, that are also on the Promo CDs from season 2 and 3. But sometimes the cues on the Promos are slightly different from the one's on Volume 2. I think the versions on Volume 2 are the actual versions, that can be heard in the episodes, while some of the cues on the Promos seem to be earlier versions, that weren't used as they were.

Snow Files of the Week: "Spirit Wedding" from "The X-Files", episode "Kaddish" (1997).

This season four episode deals with the murder of a member of the Jewish community in Brooklyn. When he comes back to life as the mythological Golem, he hunts down and kills the group of racists, that murdered him.

The track "Spirit Wedding" plays during the showdown of the episode. The two agents follow the Golem to the synagogue to find his widow and the creature exchanging wedding vows. After a fight, the widow declares her love for her murdered husband and returns the creature to dust.

Mark composed a love theme, that is heard several times during the episode. He also used a kind of strange flute sound to accompany the appearances of the Golem.

The track was released on the first volume of X-Files music from La-La Land Records, which is now sold out.

Enjoy!

I devour every word I read of your posts Alex. Thank you for all the awesome information that you share.

The two tracks are in my WMP with no titles, except it states the album is titled, "MLM Seasons by Alex." Haven't figured out how to display the length of them yet in WMP. The program does display how much of the track has been played. Were there more to this album then the two tracks?

I also have six tracks together, three titled, "Christmas Carol," Suites 1-3, and the other three are "The Post-Modern Prometheus," Suites 1-3. Are these your compiled tracks, and is this a separate album from all the others? The album is titled, "The X-Files [Promo]."

Thank you, Darlene. :)

I guess that the "MLM seasons by Alex" tracks are the suites that I made from the MLM music (see post ). The tracks from "Christmas Carol" and "The Post-Modern Prometheus" are indeed from a Promo CD, but I had nothing to do with compiling them. ;) This is a Promo CD, that surfaced several years ago, before La-La Land Records released their first X-Files set. My guess is that it was compiled by Mark Snow for promotional reasons, as were the MillenniuM promos.

I definitely need to go through all my MLM DVDs, both originals and copies, and get them straight. At one time there were many promos available, and pretty sure I have most of them, and maybe all, not sure.

Thank you Alex for the info.

You're welcome. :)

Snow Files of the Week: "Randi loves Jason/Theme From Skateboard" from the movie "Skateboard" (1978).

This is the oldest release of a score by Mark so far. Only available on Vinyl and audio tape, the album "Skateboard" features late-70's rock music and Mark's grooving score. Let's travel back to the 70's!

Enjoy!

Wow, music sure as changed since the 70s. Here I go, aging myself again.

Thanks again Alex, this time down memory road.

It's always a pleasure. :)

Snow Files of the Week: "Campfire/Goodbye" from the movie "Born to be Wild" (1995).

A rare occasion for Mark, scoring a motion picture with an orchestral score. And what a score it is. This is Mark in James Horner mode, writing sweeping themes for this family movie. The african music group "Lebo M", well known for their collaborations with Hans Zimmer on "The Lion King" and Jerry Goldsmith on "Congo", lend their musical talent to this score too.

The two tracks presented here show Mark's ability to write lush themes and wonderful sweeping melodies. Sadly the movie tanked at the box office big time, but nevertheless a score album was released by Milan Records, which still can be found in used condition.

Enjoy!
