http://www.fox.com/the-x-files/thexfiles This would be a great lead in to Millennium Series or event.

Given the appeal, history and what Fox have said, only 6 doesn't say much, does it? I guess we have to be grateful for the 6 episodes! Personally, if it came to it, I prefer to keep Frank alive in

Maybe DD and GA don't want to commit to more than 6 episodes? I don't know how long it takes to film an episode these days - I think in the first few seasons they were filming one episode every ten days, so that would be two months of work, and perhaps that's the maximum amount of time that both DD and GA are free from their other commitments.

Been itching to prep for The X Files' return by binge-watching the series from the beginning? Given that Netflix has just flipped the switch on an HD upgrade of the first season, that's gotten a little easier on the eyes. As Bloody Disgusting reports, the first 13 episodes are streaming in high-res and widescreen and they look good. Whether or not the rest of the show's run will get a similar upgrade is anyone's guess at this point, but there are at least a few people who'd appreciate that sort of thing. It's worth noting that this isn't the first time the show's appeared in HD (Germany's had it for a bit), but nothing of the sort's hit stateside until now.

Glen Morgan, James Wong & Darin Morgan Sign On For Fox’s ‘X-Files’ Revival-

http://www.tvwise.co.uk/2015/04/james-wong-glen-morgan-sign-on-for-foxs-x-files-revival/

Frank Spotnitz is busy with The Man in The high Castle for Amazon while Howard Gordon and Vince Gilligan also aren't expected to be back for the revival.

However

neither (Robert Patrick or Annabeth Gish) will appear after Fox ran into some issues in reaching a deal with Robert Patrick. Sources say that the main issue here was scheduling issues as both The X-Files and the second season of Scorpion are scheduled to begin shooting around the same time.
