I would have flung the squirrel.  not what you think!!!!  If you have a newborn pup or kitten, who isn't breathing, you  hold them in a towel, upside down,  gently but firmly.  Then you fling up and down in a way to force fluid in the lungs out.  Then you rub vigorously to stimulate circulation.  You have to do it a long time for some.  I'd have done that with the squirrel,  a few times, to be sure fluid was out if any was in his lungs.   THen rubbed for circulation and yes,  the gentle compressions for breathing.  But, this guy, he did great.  he  had the squirrel ina position to  get fluids out, and kept petting him, and talking to him, and prodding him gently so that when his body temp warmed up and his  brain was working enough, he could go off to his hole and recuperate!

hahahah!  Love that boomerang talent!

Scientist are saying that the water is going to be hard to access because "It's more like the water is locked into the crystal structure.  Actually unlocking the water so that it can be utilized, will be another milestone." (Philip Carlson, assistant professor of chemistry and physics at Belhaven University).

(Tibor Torma, physics and astronomy assistant professor and director of the Kennon Observatory at University of Mississippi) ~

“I also think that the way it is presented is overblown,” Torma said. “You would think they were seeing lakes and rivers — but in fact they saw salty ground that might have originated in a few rare outbreaks of underground melted ice.”

While the existence of water on Mars has great significance, Torma suggests, the discovery announced Monday is just too small to have a great impact on how scientists view Mars.

“I don’t think this will have a serious impact on our understanding (of) Mars,” Torma said. “We suspected it was water. Now we are a bit more sure. That is all.”

Graham's testing out a new version of the shoutbox on the Home page.

Though if that new version does work OK, can we still keep this topic going? It's useful for longer posts on miscellaneous topics.

I think keeping this going is a great idea, but naturally I can't speak for anyone else.  You know how much people like the Shoutbox.  I expect this thread will work for just some, but I hope I am proven wrong and everyone still uses it.
