Earthnut
I think the snake was more frightened than I was . LOL! I"m in Florida. It's not the first time I've had a snake in the house, just the first tie one has been an overnight guest.Yes, they can be more frightened of us, but at the same time, you could have been bitten. Thank God you weren't.Thank you for your concern regarding the strange man at my bedroom door. New locks and management does not have a key. seesthru
A bite form this snake owuld not have been venomous, but i"d have gone to the ER for wound treatment and infection control all the same. It was a risk worth taking.
Elders (Moderators) Libby Posted September 14, 2015 Elders (Moderators) Share Posted September 14, 2015 seesthru - do you get alligators near you? I'm currently watching "Miami Animal Police" where there's a guy who gets called out to capture alligators. He always makes it look easy, but if I saw one I'd run a mile. (Not that that would do me any good - I reckon even an average tortoise could outrun me!)

Earthnut
Yes, I watched The Mikado, Owls, and Roosters last night. Lost sleep in the process, but worth it.
Elders (Moderators) Libby Posted September 16, 2015 Elders (Moderators) Share Posted September 16, 2015 We didn't have a proper summer, and now it looks like we're not getting a proper autumn either - though we're currently getting the tail end of ex-tropical storm Henri. So, instead of getting Keats' poetic version of autumn: "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness", with that particular edge in the air that signals the end of the humid heat of summer and promises a good harvest, it's dank, dark, dreary, deluging, and dismal. Still, given the variability of British weather, it could all be lovely by the weekend.
Earthnut
I totally agree Libby, the Summer here in Oklahoma wasn't as severe as I thought it would be, we had very few days above 100. Makes me wonder what Winter is going to be like.Rain expected this weekend, but the highs next week are in the 80s, the 90s + are gone for good I hope, and the high humidity. The state fair starts tomorrow, forecast dry, but for those going over the weekend, they might get wet.
Walkabout
back to traditional Fall weather here after some much needed rain [ all at once] . If the El Nino holds we should have a warmer than normal Fall/ winter while the south is cooler than normal . We shall see !
