Even though Daryl isn't in the comic books,

I have never read the comics and otherwise seen any interviews about Daryl´s character , so i did not know but thanks Darlene !

he's a main character and one of the most popular.

This is true !

A lot of fans would go bonkers if he was killed, and some have threatened to stop watching the show if that happens.

As in real life, an illusuion to have control but in fact you don´t have any life/nature does what it wants -call it fate.

the fans can threaten as they want if the producers want him to die then he dies! For me it´s okay then but it does not stop me from watching

the series till the end- i´m not a fanatic Daryl fan but it would be a huge lost.

Yeah, right.  Daryl turned his head at the last second, so I am sure it's a shoulder wound,

yeah, i think so!

and positive the guy, whatever his name is, I can't remember, was aiming for his head, then again, maybe he didn't intend to do a head shot.  He also said at the last second that Daryl will be alright.  There's a preview scene where someone is being carried on at stretcher, and thinking it's Daryl being taken to the doctor at Hilltop, or it could be Maggie with baby problems since the doctor is an OB.  She could die a painful death just like Rick's wife, Lori, did in child birth.  They cut the baby out.

I think about that too!

Can't wait to see the tiger, but even more excited about Negan.  I love Jeffery Dean Morgan, and sure he will play the part perfectly.

he will definitely!

Carol is a favorite as well, but thinking she's possibily the one that Negan beats to death.  He might see her in action and then she would be just as much a threat as one of the men.  I don't see Morgan getting killed since he just joined the show again.  The only other one would be Abraham.  He's ex military, and a threat to Negan, and Abraham could very well provoke Negan to beating him.

Yeah, a possibility we´ll see!

Whatever happens, it's going to be a 90-minute wild and crazy ride this coming Sunday.

In any case Darlene !:w00t2:

don´t want to be mean but this show turns so quickly into something boring and systematic. I used to watch it because I found very interesting the way that the characters changed due to the circumstances (never really cared about zombies stories). But there is a point when the show turns into a dead end. You have to fight zombies or people. And that is all. So...isn´t that kind of boring? And to the producers: this is the year 2016 btw. We all know that if the director doesn´t show you the actor actually dying then it is not dead. Specially this kind of show that is so gory. Noah´s death or Hersel are 2 perfect examples.

That is also why (regarding to Millennium) I can understand why people maybe don´t like the 2 season of the show because it made a huge change. But if that change didn´t happen the show would turn into "the killer of the week" and become boring like CSI. The same case that TWD is for me now.

And that thing that they do in most episodes that nothing happens until the last 2 minutes (specially in the final chapter of every the season)...man that is so annoying. And there are so many things that make you said: come on! what?!!!

Quick example: that episode when the only doctor that the group not only had decided to go out to find whatever...she starts screaming to Daryl and Rosita in the middle of nowhere like they were having a sunny day in the park...that was too much, almost funny...
Who wrote that? Who would let the only doctor in town go out for a mission in the middle of nowhere? It´s like sending Napoleon or Alexander the Great as a scout to see how many soldiers are outside. Hilarious. And suddenly the writers decided that every character must have a relationship. That was the end for me. What is ? Friends?

Frank Jr., I totally agree with you about a lot of what's going, yet I am hanging in there until Negan shows up since I am such a big fan of Jeffery Dean Morgan.  I'm hoping his presence improves the show, and since he's near the end of the comics, maybe the series is nearing it's end with next season.  I think it needs to end, one way or another, because up until now, it really has been the same old same old.  Negan on the other hand, and the Kingdom with a Tiger, does changes things, but now it's more about man fighting man and not working together to survive and fighting the dead, which is what we see all the time on TV and in movies, man killing man.

Again I am reminded of Mark Twain's quote ~

Of all the animals, man is the only one that is cruel. He is the only one that inflicts pain for the pleasure of doing it. - "The Lowest Animal"

I'm one of those people that doesn't like seeing someone get killed, especially watching all the gore, so just knowing is enough for me.  I like thrillers and edge of your seat, which this show does bring.  Yes, it was stupid to allow the only person that comes close to being a doctor to go outside the protection of the walls.  No group in their right mind would allow that, or at least with a large escort, not just 2 people, and especially with all the people being met on the road these days.  And yes, all the wasted time on relationships and sex.  Almost like they're grabbing at straws to fill in time.

So again, if Negan doesn't save the show, then it does need to end.

Season 2 of MLM was awesome because it did change things up some, and brought in totally different kinds of episodes, like Somehow, Satan Got Behind Me.  With such a large variety of subjects it had many of our favorite episodes in it as well, for example to name a few, The Curse of Frank Black, Luminary, Goodbye Charlie, The Mikado, Anamnesis, A Room with No View.  To me, every season of MLM was very good, and why I still hang here at these forums, loving the show and hoping to see Frank brought back somehow and somewhere.

I liked season 2 from the beginning, it was so fresh and new and by that time in (1997/1998) very suitable, and above all entertaining.
And that thing that they do in most episodes that nothing happens until the last 2 minutes (specially in the final chapter of every the season)...man that is so annoying. And there are so many things that make you said: come on! what?!!! Agree!

What I liked about TWD was always that surviving thing against the dead in that apocalyptic world. The tension!!!!

That's why i also like FEAR-TWD because there is less blood&gore- but it will be difficult to maintain the tension.

About men fighting men :

Humanity has always been marked by war, be it for power, food, money, land, religion etc. (Also currently ongoing wars).

I think that even for realistic, think about season 5, the cannibalism - realistic but for me too gory i don´t need that.

I want to be entertained, i don´t have to see every detail. Best example is Hitchcock´s "PSYCHO".
....but society has changed there are no longer limits the technology makes it possible.

I don´t know the end because I have never read the comics but i think it comes to an end- what is yet to come?

I appreciate your comments Frank and Simon.  I agree on many of your points, like the gore, and the doctor being noisy, inviting everyone in the neighborhood to show up.

Again I agree, the tension is what made the show so good, and of course it has always been character driven.

I wish I had read the comic before the show started, and trying to read them now is confusing, because some characters that have died in the show (Andrea) are still alive in the comics, and vice versa.  Lots of circumstances are different throughout the comics as well.  The Kingdom with Ezekiel and his Tiger, and the group meeting Negan is as far as I've read.  The Kingdom and Alexandria join forces against Negan.  Will have to get back to you, and soon, because I am going to find the spot where I left off and try to read more.  I will say that the show is no where near the end and there's enough to last 2 more seasons, maybe 3, I don't know until I finish reading.  I personally don't think it should last over one more season now that Negan is in the picture, but knowing TWD producers, they will drag it out I am sure.

There are a number of site where you can either read the comics online, or download them.  My copy is black and white, but there are color copies out there that have been scanned.  Not sure which one is best since my download was from a torrent site.  Not sure about any of these sites since I didn't download from them.

This is the torrent site I used and page where the download has the most people seeding, and offers 134, which is more then mine at 126, plus specials and survivors guides.  I'm at 112 now, so I have a ways to go.  To download a torrent you need a client like BitTorrent...I use uTorrentPro.

Here's the link for the CBR Reader, which is free ~

https://www.cbrreader.com/

If I remember correctly, I think I downloaded the reader at the same time I downloaded the comics.  I often download programs from CNET.  Here's the page with the reader on top of the list.

It's hard to say what will happen since we never know what they are going to change and what they'll keep the same.

In the comics Sophia and Andrea are still alive, and as we know, there's no Daryl.  I had around 126, but downloaded a few more today that just came available, and now up to 134, plus a bunch of specials.  It has to end eventually or they will burn out the fans, especially since they keep killing people off.

Abraham got the arrow in in the head in the comics, and Glenn met his death with Lucille.

Also in the comics, Negan throws grenades at Alexandria and burns down all the houses at the perimeter, forcing everyone to move to Hilltop.

I will have to read them again because there's a lot I've either forgotten, or it never happened, so it does get confusing.

Well, I for one was disappointed in the finale.  There were so many times they dragged it out, no where near the suspense they claim there would be, except at the end when we finally met Negan and the group knew someone was getting killed with Negan playing "eeny meeny miny moe" to pick which one.  And now we have to wait until next season to find out who because they left us hanging, which probably won't start until the Fall.

OMG, Jeffery Dean Morgan was fantastic as Negan.  No Negan cussing like in the comics, but from what I hear, the DVDs will have all the F this and M F that in them.

During The Talking Dead the writer explained that this finale was all about Rick losing his power and that next season it will be about who got killed.  Obviously that's from the writer's perspective and not the fans.  Abraham was too ready to die, and Negan noticed that, so I'm sure it's not him.  Rick hasn't kept a woman yet in his life, so it could be Michonne, except for the fact that she is a fan favorite.  Negan pointed out how pathetic Maggie looked, and may very well have finished her off, which would be devastating since she's pregnant.  As popular as Daryl is, I'm thinking it's him since he blew up Negan's men, but it could still be Glenn, following the comics, especially after all the hype with him surviving under a dumpster.

By the way, in the comics, Rick had his right hand cut off.

We also have to wait till next season to meet the people of The Kingdom, King Ezekiel and his Tiger.  We managed to cross paths with 2 men who took Carol and Morgan with them to help her after being shot around 3 times by a savior.  Obviously we knew neither one of them were going to meet Lucille.

Obviously the "war" won't begin until next season, and who knows how long they will drag that out.

I'm still a fan of the show, especially the characters, and will continue to watch it, but hopefully next season they will do a better job and not drag things out too much longer.  I think it's time to wrap things up.

you know, I saw the last 5 minutes yesterday by chance and this might be interesting for you. (Big spoiler alert)
In the end we know that someone is dead for sure but not a clue of who. Here, due to the language we might have one little clue. Sometimes the writers use "you" in a way that they can hide information...in this case as if it is female or a man who was beaten to death. And again, sometimes the people who do the translation in Spanish can achieve that trick but in many cases they can´t or they do it wrong. So they give U the genre of the person. In this finale, the translation went as "he took it like a real champ". So, there´s a very high probability that is a HE who actually died. I think you might find that interesting :)

ps.: I found this nerdy of LOTR pic.
