Is there final word on the format of the DVD?

Thankx

From The Digital Bits a couple of months back:

By the way, we've confirmed with the studio that Fox's Millennium: The Complete Second Season (1/4/05 - SRP $59.98) WILL feature anamorphic widescreen video (our previous information was that this was a full frame title). Just FYI.

Fox just screwed up with the press release just like they did with R2 season two and Harsh Realm. Both turned out to be actually widescreen. Besides, all previous 1013 DVD sets have been identical in each region (except for a couple of dropped extras here and there & different covers).

A bit of speculation there of course, but what else could it be? First Fox said it's full screen and when The Digital Bits asked them about it they say it's actually widescreen. If you trust tDB (and keep in mind it wasn't posted as a rumor) it's pretty much confirmed.

And let me comment from what I have seen from the Region 2 UK release the show most certainly DOES use the Widescreen formatting very well.

Also refer back to earlier topics/threads on this subject when we got confirmation from Fox. They seem to have gaffed on technical details a few times and even got the number of episodes in S1 incorrect on the UK packaging! Don't worry about it, widescreen it is. Not long to wait now! :ouro:

Even though I have a full-screen TV right now, I buy widescreen all the time. That way, when I do eventually get a widescreen TV, I won't have to re-buy all my DVDs.

I also don't like having a large portion of the picture cut off, which is what pan and scan does.
