HighPlainsDrifter
At this moment i had stopped at The Hand of St. Sebastin. one of the main things i noticed between Season 1 & 2 is that 2 is not as gloomy-dark and heavy as 1. That is what i miss but up until The Hand, i have enjoyed it so far. one thing i do like about Season 2 is the introduction of Lara Means, i always loved this character......i think she was great in Monster. Sense and Antisense is like a X-File. So Far my stand outs are 19:19 and The Curse of Frank Black.......stay tune for a complete grade and review from my point of view
Raven Wolf
Yes, Laura realy grew on me. At first I didn't like her, because I was afraid they were gonna try to get him together with her, and Frank and Catherine's marrage was one of the backbones of the show..... But then I got to like her more and more, and now I can't imagine it without her! Her caracter ended up bringing something TO Millennium, rather than taking it away. That's exactly what I thought, too Ravenwolf! Look at us-always looking for that underlying hookup byline! We probably should have learned from X-files that Chris Carter doesn't go for these cheap "soap opera" tricks! I liked Laura too once I felt her character was "true" to herself and her beliefs. Guest Allen
Lost all repect i had for Morgan and wong I hope Morgan and Wong will have nothign to do with Millennium in the future I agree completly it was like that were rushing the show to it's end. I always say that season 2 destroyed millennium but also produced some of the best episiodes. After reading your comment I looked to see who wrote which and was surprised that most of those real good episodes weren't written by morgan and wong i.e. single blade of grass, jose chung, midnight, luminary. Of course there are more but these with the curse and beware the dog are the best. Strange that the primary writers only wrote two of this list. Of course this is only my opinion and you must decide for yourself. On a side note my wife who had never seen the show until I bought the DVDs and became fanatic is feed up with season 2 and she just finished monster. In there defense they did give us Laura but we know how that ended up. Why did Carter allow them to do this?
Walkabout
OMG!!!!! I just finished watching 'Jose Chung, Doomsday' ep..[only the first of many , many times ].... it is the funniest farce I have seen in a long time.. maybe the funniest ever !! ....how could they deliver such lines with a straight face...without busting out laughing [ maybe they did and had to reshoot over and over] maybe they used a cattle prod on each other.. I would so love to see those out-takes. As someone who works for the government [in th US] and was there for the birth of Sciencetology[?] [god I even bought a copy ] AND watched the old detective series of the 50's and 60's .. I must say I probly get even more of the inside jokes more than most.. I only hope I can get to retirement before they totally suck out my brain and replace it with steel wool !!! :grin2: [less than 26 months but WHO'S COUNTING] and yes you either end up brain dead [ like a Selfosophist] or sarcastic to the Nth degree !! And yes ... Peter Watt's mustache is amazing !! And for sure the next 1000 years will be more of the same ole crap !!

Elders (Moderators) Libby Posted January 8, 2005 Elders (Moderators) Share Posted January 8, 2005 Why did Carter allow them to do this? From what I gather (from the commentary) Chris Carter had no choice in who took over the show for S2. He couldn't do it because of TXF the series plus working on TXF the movie. The decision was made by Fox and rumour has it that no-one was volunteering, so Fox kind of imposed it on Morgan & Wong, who weren't themselves happy with Fox at all because of the way S:AAB had been treated. So I think M&W treated it as their Fox "swan song". As I've said before, I think M&W are excellent writers and directors, but should stick to their own shows. I don't think their track record on both TXF and MM speaks very well for them being "part of the team". They almost seem to have been ignored/resented when they went back to TXF after a break. I think they like doing things their own way a little too much for a show like TXF where they weren't "the boss". When they became "the boss" of MM2, they took the show where they would have taken it right from the beginning if they'd had the chance. If S2 had actually been the first season, I think it would have been derided for being a TXF clone. I rather resent the direction they took the Millennium Group in, in terms of its "history", its tie-in to religion, its factions, its conspiracy, and the ending of the final episode is just spectaculaly embarrassing. I did watch the episode again when I got my DVDs but just couldn't watch that nonsense a second time. Really I have little respect for M&W. I think their work on TXF and MM shows a degree of arrogance - in both series they decided to do things that just don't fit in. And I think both series suffered for that. Oh dear, that was a little bit of a rant, wasn't it? I do try to be reasonable but I'm in a bit of a bad mood - computer woes, so I'm having to use my laptop, and the keyboard isn't designed for touch typists like me, so I keep hitting the wrong keys. (Just managed to hit "numlock" by mistake so got numbers instead of letters. Grrrr!)
