The killer of Pepper, Sammael was supossed to be an angel. Sammael is an angel of death. Though, Rabinnic sources eqaute him with the devil. His incantation is a further indicator. Powers, Principalities, Thrones, and Dominions are all angelic orders. He also mentions the names of Uriel (Fire of God) and Raziel (Mystery of God). It is assumed Pepper killed Mike Atkins. Sammael, for whatever reason, was there after Pepper, or rather, the entity that inhabits the body of Pepper. Legion has come to be used to describe the characters with a "demonic" pressence. The Judge, Lucy Butler, Alistair Pepper, Ricardo Clement, Richard Green's Father, Martin, Yaponchik, Mr Crocell's spirit, Danielle Barbakow, and so forth..

I thought that Butler and Yaponchik were seperate entities - especially considering Yaponchik who was suppose to be the antichrist himself!

And was that Sammael - or was the boy possessed/controled by Sammael?

Does all this come out in series 2 or 3 as none of this is mentioned in series 1.

They likely are all seperate entities. But they all are servants of the same darkness. If anything, Legion shouldn't be thought of as a single being. Maybe more as a force. As in the dark aspect of divinity.

Sammael was most likely in a temporary physical form. It's also possible he took the body of someone upon their death.

perhaps I am jumping to conclusions, but I thought the whole point was demons trying to get Frank to join them instead of helping the MLLM group?

of course this does not fit well with the later revaltaions that MLLM is perhaps evil afterall, does it?

It seemed to have been variable. Some were simply around to cause horros in the world. Some did want Frank to join them. Others wanted him to stop fighting the darkness. Obviously, they consider Frank very dangerous to their goals, but his potential value as an ally possibly worth the risk.
