MovieMaker
We have had a lot of questions about the length of each episode in relation to the size of the file, running time, and story development per. airing. I wanted to take a poll to see what the people who will be downloading the episodes to watch would consider to be the optimal length. -MM
Walkabout
I voted for 10 x 12.. I know I'm probly the only one with a dino computer but I'm sure many still don't have high speed or DSL so this seemed a good option...
hippyroo
I think people that have no idea of what you are talking about should not vote. That would include me.....
Raven Wolf
Well....as you said you were going for 10 minute episodes when we started, and that's what I tried to write for, I picked that one. I know probably less than Walkabout, but this seemed like a safe guess.
MovieMaker
If you do not know what millennium apocalypse is head over to this web site and check it out. https://www.millennium-apocalypse.digitalshadowfilms.com Raven, and to others regarding story wise, I have been messing with it and I can cut it up into any of the options above and still have a consistant story, 5min to me seems a bit short but Im just trying to look out for the viewers as I want everyone to beable to download it without frustration of having to wait or the format war of wether to encode in wma, qt, real, or what ever so I just wanted to know what the popular vote would be. This isnt definitive I am just wandering what peoples thoughts are. -MM

Elders (Admins) The Old Man Posted January 30, 2005 Elders (Admins) Share Posted January 30, 2005 I went for 15 minute episodes. More and more poeple are getting Broadband but some still have dialup connections or live in remote areas without Broadband. A compromise of 15mins plus I still don't know how on earth you would open and wrap up an episode in less than 15 mins! Gra.

MovieMaker
Lol I know I hear that a lot about opening and closing an episode with a beginning, middle and end. but surprisingly its not that difficult cuz in actuality every scene should have a b.m.e, so you just find a good breaking point in the story that has that structure and either leave them wondering till next week (as this will be an on going story not individual stories) or sum up what we are dealing with at the moment. Think of it as the Saturday morning comics section when they used to have the serious comics in there, how you got to see about three or four panels of story then they left you hanging till next week, this will kind of be the same, it may piss some people off and others may like, but we worked really hard on it and I just hope people will see it for what it is. -mm
Walkabout
As a kid I remember watching 'Flash Gordon' and 'Buck Rogers' as serials and the famous cliff hangers.... and actually 'Lost' is that way as many stories are carried over or gone back to weeks later... keeps ya comin back for more!
