ethsnafu Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 Hmm interesting stuff, I must say it is testament to the artistry of both chaps that their on-screen relationship oozed genuine warmth despite their difficulties. I was also quite stunned when it was stated that Lance didn't speak to Terry O'Quinn for the entire duration of the filming of Season Three. I know the reason given was the intense method acting style employed by Lance required him to shift the tone of his relationship with Terry as he was now an antagonist to Frank but I can still see why Terry was perturbed by this. It's no wonder that Lance expressed doubts as to whether he was capable of a fourth Season given the emotional toll of the third. Mark do you know if their friendship endured beyond the cancellation of the series or not? Best wishes, Eth
4th Horseman Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 unfortunately, i dont know if their "relationship" suffered or not. I would tend to think that as he genuflects about MillenniuM and the intensity it required, O'Quinn would see that Lance was only preparing for his role as Frank Black, and that it had nothing to do with him personally.. But this brings up a very interesting point about everyone's "All I Want For Xmas is a MillenniuM Project"...contractually or due just to too much water under the bridge, what are the chances of conceivable bringing all the main characters back? We know that Lance and SJR are up for it, but i have not heard a smidgen about O'Quinn's thoughts. Or what of your favorite character Ethie? Would it leave you "wanting" if Lara's character was left out? Or Jordan? Imagine the holes one would have to fill with those crucial characters missing.... What then? Write around them? It would really be a shame in my opinion if a project went forward without one or all of these crucial characters as they added to the completeness that MillenniuM was. It would be very foolhearted to assume that any of these actors/actresses are sitting by the phone, wringing their hands in anticipation of a call from Carter. Hell, they may have absolutely no interest in reprising their roles. Or they may have other projects or contractual obligations that would prevent them from participating. I would assume that Carter would clear these hurdles prior to rolling the cameras, however, if one, two or all three of them were not available for some reason, then those who are taking a "Full Speed Ahead, Damn The Torepedo" approach concerning a MillenniuM project should consider the very real possibility of having other actors/actresses filling in these roles, or worse, excluding them all together.. Would it be worth it then? 4th Horseman...
ethsnafu Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Fabulous points my friend, Whilst it would be akin to tantric-sex to see Kristen involved in a Millennium project the augury does not bode well. She stated that her intention was only to appear in a solitary Season given her desire to remain with her husband and the emergence of her family has only augmented this standpoint with her announced retirement and subsequent assertion that she will only take roles that allow her to be with her husband and children. On the issue of O'Quinn I can't imagine for a second that Jacob Abrams would easily release him from his contract given the integral role he plays in the Lost mythology and the stellar reception he has garnered and whilst it pains me to say it Abrams carries more clout than Carter at the moment. On the official Lost boards O'Quinn was asked about his time on Millennium and his tart reply that 'Let's just say Lost is the happiest project I have been involved in' made me hark back to those comments made regarding his ire at being 'sent to coventry' by Lance and whilst it is true to say that O'Quinn would be cognisant of the reason's for Lance's boycott it is documented that he was not happy with it at all. I wholeheartedly agree with you that Millennium-lite would be a poisoned chalice and have fully retracted my early enthuses and accept your own logical standpoint that this movie, for a plethora of reasons, will never be made. The continuation of Millennium now rest with the fans, in this board, in the virtual seasons and so on. Best wishes, Eth As you mention, my friend, Lara is my favourite character and Kristen celebrates her birthday shortly so I am desperate to make this a big occasion at TIWWA so if anyone can think of a fine a fitting way to do so please PM me.
4th Horseman Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 well, i could not think of any worse way to tarnish the legacy of MillenniuM than to subjagate its fans to sloppy leftovers in regards to replacing or worse, ignoring those characters that have lived in our hearts for these many years. A project of this nature would be one i could not in any good faith support. I would rather live with the memories of just how damned good the show was..all i have to do is slip in a DVD and i can have nirvana anytime!!!!...Just to see Lance reprise his role at the expense of what MillenniuM was all about and its character chemistry would be sacrilegious at best..sometimes its best to let sleeping dogs lie. 4th Horseman
Who Am I? Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 William Hurt would have made a decent Frank Black, but during the time where Millennium was being taped/aired, he was also doing other projects at that time. And besides, I don't think the miniseries of Dune would have been as good as it was with him portraying Duke Leto Atredies. Though, Hurt seems also the one to turn down roles, as he did with Jurassic Park. But dealing with the 'AIWFXIAMP' (too lazy to write out the whole thing)... It would be really bad if you ignored characters who played a paramount role within the series, even if it was for just a few episodes. If you were to have Lara or Jordan played by other people or disregarded, it would just kinda...suck, ya know? I agree with my colleague here, let us live with the memories of our favorite series, watch them over and over, and let past wrongs right themselves on their own.
model217 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Watched this again last night on Chiller. I guess I never really caught the underlying theme of the killer becoming a killer by the trauma he suffered and was now passing it on to the little girl. That was until the closing scene as they were walking out of the hospital room and I saw the pictures that the girl drew, those were some pretty wild drawings. Then I remembered that Frank was telling some one that it wouldn't end until the"circle is broken". Amazing what I keep digging out of each episode even after I've seen them three or four times. I had always thought the best part of the episode was the heroic dog.
Who Am I? Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 That tends to happen during the first and second viewings. After awhile, you start picking up on things you didn't notice were there. I was 14 or 15 when Millennium on TV, and as everybody knows hormones at that time really stink. So of course I was thinking which actors were hot, which were not, and which seriously needed to be replaced. Of course now that I'm a little older and a little more observant, I pick up on more things. But I still love the 'stache.
