obviously, there was some reason why Lara's quote "Here's my thing" came up in every show her character was in, but i'm wondering if anyone has any idea as to why Chris gave her this line. Or if this was a Morgan/Wong thing. It got to be such a regular thing that Frank actually, jokingly said it when trying to leave a message on her machine. Forgive me if this has been discussed already, i wasn't able to find anything on it in a search.

It would definitely be a Morgan and Wong thing - Lara Means was in Season 2 only, which M&W were the executive producers of. I think it's just a line they thought up - if there's a connection to anything/anyone else I haven't been able to find it.

I like it. It fits with the character, which is probably why it occurs so often.

I always thought the Lara character's personality was added to provide a bit of a sarcasm and flippancy in counterpoint to Frank's inevitable seriously dour approach to all the events, mysteries, etc. that they worked on. I think M&W relied on Lara to do that rather than getting someone like Roedecker, who definitely had the ability to be flippant, more involved in things that he couldn't understand and wouldn't have been able to deal with. If you'll remember from Mikado, he really didn't handle the horror of the events unfolding on the webcam very well (look at some of chrisnu's screen captures and you'll see very graphically how he went from a jokester to speechless and on the verge of breakdown).

Up until Owls/Roosters Lara would frequently keep the tinge of flippancy in her dialogue. From O/R on she was more serious and began to sink toward that ultimate loss of control and breakdown.

The actress Kristen Cloke, who portrayed Lara Means in MillenniuM happens to be married to Glen Morgan (of Morgan & Wong fame), and she often stars in her husband's & his partner's projects (such as Space Above and Beyond, The X Files, MillenniuM, The Others, Final Destination and a deleted scene in Willard).

So's how's that for a connection to M & W. You don't get much more connected then that! :kissing:

Yes, that was her playing "Melissa Rydell Ephesian" in the Morgan & Wong penned X-Files episode, "In the Field Where I Died". You've got a good eye. And I love https://www.imdb.com

The best use of the 'Here's my thing' line was when Frank used it while leaving a message for Lara on her machine before her phone was disconnected in Roosters. I always enjoyed hearing her say it, but I almost fell off of my sofa when Frank used it.
