gravity well Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 It looks a lot better than miracles. kind of surprising that NBC would take such a religious leap, the networks usually go for the status quo crap. Bill Pullman is ripe for a Network TV roll. Did anyone else watch "Touching Evil" on USA.. that was a great show. a lot more like millenium than anything i had seen. Then it up and gets cancelled. I have given up on TV to retain anything decent. Bravo should bring back its "Shows too good for TV" set where they reran every episode of twin peaks, northern exposure, etc.. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Naw, religion is the current flavor du jour in the states, wouldn't you say? Everyone is another Lara Means, angels, angels everywhere, and not a step to take. (okay, that sucked, I'll admit it), but as long as it's thought-provoking and entertaining and not done chicken-soup-for-the-suburban-housewife style, I'm game. Yes! Touching Evil was very cool. But that's the current entertainment industry, regardless of the media. Overused example, but look at the Beatles, how much they changed in such a short window. If they were around today, they'd have been dropped off their label after their first experimental forays.
Guest Burnout Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 was touching evil made for tv, or a movie that has been out for a while??
gravity well Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 was touching evil made for tv, or a movie that has been out for a while?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I believe it was originally a British TV movie or miniseries, then there was an American version that was on for 12 or 13 episodes.
Guest fisbin Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 This new show - Revelations...appears to have great potential.... 7 episodes could indeed be all we get & that would be a shame. But in this eye of this particular hurricane, there can be only one of two outcomes. How they take us on the journey to whichever side wins this, what seems to be another, and perhaps the ultimate battle of good vs. evil, what with the infant Christ again upon the planet....shall be the determining factor. Will the masses embrace to make it last long enough??? I for one shall hope for that - but will not hold my breath. LL&P - fisbin
Guest F_Black Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Didn't know where else to put this: Link on Terry O'Quinn's new role in ABC's "Lost". in USA Today. https://www.usatoday.com/life/television/ne...st-oquinn_x.htm I watched this past week's ep for the first time. Seemed rather good actually, though mostly I was watching just to see Terry. I think he's been a rather under-utilized and underappreciated actor. Hopefully, this role will get him a wider audience. The article makes both Terry and the Lost character sound a lot like Peter Watts himself. Very introspective, connected to family, etc. In the show he emotes a lot more than he did in MM, but the character is kind of similar. I'm planning on watching the show more in the future.
Beerbelch Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 BEER---> Yes, the last ep was very good. Gave the back story of Locke (Terry Q), kind of dark - just the way I like em. How about his Father? What a guy. BELCH
vain68 Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Revelations looks like it won't make it past six episdoes.......Wasn't renewed by NBC.........
Guest LadyBlack Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Has anyone got "Carnival" yet? I saw the first episode and was really intrigued, the usual "X-Files" connections......OK, I've only spotted one so far, the short gentleman from........whichever X-Files episode it was with all the carnival characters. Only he wasn't. I am thinking about getting the whole series, but it's too much money at present and I know that they will bring it out on terrestrial TV in the UK at some point. Just after I buy it, I expect. Seems to be full of Portents for the fight between good and evil, the possible presence of God and the Devil. Someone with a powerful, maybe unwanted gift. A conspiracy, perhaps to kill him.. Various slightly impotent friends and helpers (as in the Carnival people are treated very badly by "normal" folk). This is sounding oh-so-familiar. So. Has this been cancelled too?

Thanks for the link. I was very sad to read about his problems: O'Quinn's experience hasn't been quite so dramatic. But Lost and the accompanying move to Hawaii have been part of a great change for the 52-year-old actor and his wife, Lori. "My wife and I were going through such a bad time two years ago," dealing with family and money issues, he says. "My wife said, 'We've got to change our thinking. We're letting everything drag us down.' We made a conscious decision to become more positive."
