MIRACLES and VERITAS start tonight

This is a heads up reminder to everyone.  teh supernatural drama MIRACLES starts tonight at 10/9 pm ET/CT and VERITAS: THE QUEST also starts up tonight on ABC at 8/7 pm ET/CT.   VERITAS looks to be millennniumistic because it is about father and son looking to get ancient artifacts before the wrong people do.  artifacts that could control the world.   I will tune in to watch both, but I'm really looking foward to MIRACLES starring Skeet Ulrich as the skeptic and Angus McFayden as the believer.  also stars Hector Elizando.   A fight between good and evil with the Anti-Christ expected to appear sooner or later.  Have a better one.

Be Seeing you,

David Blackwell

Thanks for the reminder, David!  I would have forgotten!   I shall have my set to record Miracles.  I am not sure about Veritas.  But I will watch it to see if it will be come a part of my regular (well, for me "regular" always means semi-regular, or even catching something when I can...).  But I will definitely be recording Miracles.

I really hope the show flies (pardon the pun   )!  And I hope it is a good quality drama.  It is about time another well done creative drama about extraordinary phenomena really catches on in the wake of The X-Files.  Speaking of which, the teaming up of the "skeptic" and "believer" definitely smacks of TXFs.  We'll see...

The truth is out there,

Scott

Wondering if I should bother to tape them... I haven't seen any previews (I'm going on you guys' word here!), so I don't know for sure for myself.  But I did tape "The Others" when it first came on, on a hunch, and I'm terribly glad I did.  Of course, I later got copies on CD-R, so it wouldn't've mattered, but hey, you never know.  What do you guys think?  Worth breaking open some new tapes for?

Laura, Miracles- Yes.   Veritas- I'm reading bad reviews about it, but try it one episode to see if it's for you.  If not, tape over Veritas.  Miracles is getting some good reviews and it definitely looks to be a strong show and I hope it is as good as the reviews I have read and from the cool previews.  have a better one.

Laura,

I am going to definitely record Miracles.  I only saw the previews once, but all I could say to myself immediately was... "this has MLM and TXFs written all over it..." as far as appeal.  And it really looks quality!

Also, could you dubb me all the eps of The Others onto vhs or dvd-r?  Will trade for equal amount of eps of MLM.  The only stippulation I would have would be that I would need the eps recorded in SP mode (or equivalent dvd-r speed) on decent quality fresh brand new VHS (or dvd-r).  What do you say?

Scott

Who will shortly be running down to Blockbuster to by a vhs tape to record Miracles tonite... yikes, forgot to pick up a blank (in my "spare time")...

Yeesh, guys, I'm sorry to say that my "The Others" recordings aren't really the greatest.  Mine were done before the room that once was mine got the greatest TV reception ever, and also before I had a VCR, so they were done on my not-very-good quality parents' old VCR.  And the DVD-R ones aren't so great, either, as far as quality of them goes, I believe.  I don't have them for the quality, I have them to have them, because otherwise the show would be lost to me.  They'd probably only really be worth having if you didn't have any other copies of them period.

I was quite pleased with miracles.  It was very differnt from the feel of MLM and from X-Files, which I think is a good thing.  It will stand on it's own then.  I think that might have been the problem with, say, Haunted.  They tried to hard to have it be something else, instead of its own style and feel.

It really was different.  The was sort of a quite, chilling, mysteriousness to the way the show came across to me.  Visions where very cool.  Especially the first one of the boy on the train, etc.  I thought it came together quite nicely.

There was a little hint of Millennium Group type overtones there at the end with the "Fellowship of Seekers" making contact with him and slipping him the card.  But it really feels like something different.

We'll see what happens...

Ciao,

Scott
