There was some discussion about when/if MM was coming out on dvd. And some were saying that since FOX/Mark Snow  had been working on a cd then they thought, based on that fact that the dvd was coming out for sure.  Well, I just wondered if anyone saw this on Mark Banning's site. https://home.earthlink.net/~mrgnp/resume.html

"Independently Contracted Promotional CDs

Mark Snow - Promotional and archival references for film and TV movie scores -

Millennium, Pasadena, various TV movies"

I just wondered if this was normal for the person that does the music to Independently Contract Promo cds. Isn't Fox, or whatever the movie studio is usually get involved?

This isn't a soundtrack put out for purchase; it's the fellow saying that he helped Snow to make a CD for him to send to production companies and such to promote his music.  An audition tape, if you will; like a resume you can listen to.  The company that the music was used by doesn't control that because he still wrote it, no matter what.  Just like if I made costumes for a show, the company I made them for owns them, but I can still put them in my portfolio as mine.

Yes, I know. And that's my point. He's putting it out by himself. Fox has not made a "Millennium Soundtrack", so this is no indication that Millennium will be released on dvd.

First of all, I don't claim to know anything about the alleged soundtrack that's been floating around.  I don't know if anyone knows that the tracks on there were all definitely from Millennium; Mark Snow has a similar sound through all his shows, which is how I knew before the opening credits on the first episode of "Pasadena" that he did the music (hey, I had to watch it for a class, it wasn't my choice; such a terrible show that even Dana Delany couldn't save it).  But this promo CD has music from a variety of different shows he's composed for, not just MM, so if anyone knew which music goes where (I know I'd recognize the "Pasadena" music, at least, and some of the MM, if it was the distinctive stuff), they could easily tell if the music floating around is from a MM soundtrack or a general Snow album.  And this album should not be in commercial distribution at all, even by Snow, because the music is still "owned" by FOX studios, and therefore can't be sold by him without permission.  So either someone got ahold of this promo CD and sent the music from it around, or there's something else going down.

To all my fellow Millennium enthusiasts:

As this rare CD is apparantly about - is there anyone who has a vehicle for which to make this available - thru trade or otherwise?

There is something incredibly special about the music associated with what I view as the most moving television program ever. I have been able to  come by bits & pieces of the music via internet downloads (the late xfilesmusic.com was one) but I still desperately would love to have this particular item. I do possess the "Powers, Principalities, Thrones & Dominions" MM CD which was created by a fellow fan a few years back but is no longer in production. I would be willing to work something out. I can be reached thru my email address.

Much thanx to whomever may be willing to help me.

:ouro: As a desperately passionate and MM deprived person, (And not a very computer-literate one  ) I would just like to ask, no BEG whoever put the main theme in this part of the board to tell me how he/she did it, & beg them to help me find it, too!  I have a MIDI on my site, but it's nothing compared to the origional!

Can anyone help?
