HighPlainsDrifter Posted November 23, 2005 Posted November 23, 2005 Each seasons theme song is a tad different from the other.....Season Three seems to have more strings to it, anyone notice this or am i going crazy?
Guest chrisnu Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I believe that the theme music to Seasons 1 and 2 is the same, but Season 3 had quite a bit more ambience given to it.
Guest betweenthelines Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 The theme song for Season 3 has some sort of choir added in. Other than that, it's more or less the same song.
Guest Frank L. Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 I think Season 1 was the standard theme. Season 2 has heavier percussion, and Season 3 has some sort of choir, like betweenthelines said, with an echo or something. Really vague, I know...
Guest ZeusFaber Posted November 24, 2005 Posted November 24, 2005 The theme in S1 and S2 was the same. Mark Snow updated it for S3, in part inspired by the addition of a new character in the form of Emma Hollis.
Guest ModernDayMoriarty Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I was thinking about the opening themes just the other day. I quite like all of them but I think Season Two probably has the best one. The bright lights, the candles, the slow burning sorrow and the chill I got when I saw that the line had changed to 'The Time is Near...' Brr, it went right through me.
Raven Wolf Posted November 25, 2005 Posted November 25, 2005 I always thought seasons 1 and 2 were the same as far as the music went, and it took on the tones that were just mentioned in season 3. It's almost fortelling it's own death. *sigh*
Guest A Stranger Posted November 26, 2005 Posted November 26, 2005 I loved some of the images put in in year three the most. But they could never top "This is Who We Are." It was kind of dissapointing when it was revealed to be the Group's way of greeting each other. Lame. I mean, how could a serious person like Peter not start cracking up when they say that to each other? I wonder if they have a secrete MLM Group handshake?
Guest citizenk Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 S2 had a little more bass rhythm. I can feel it in my speakers. S3 had more ambient sounds and choir-ish echoes of the melody. I play it on piano all the time cuz i love the theme.
Guest ZeusFaber Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 S2 might have mixed it differently, but it wasn't rescored by Mark Snow. For S3, Mark Snow did indeed rescore it.
