Obsession

The series Millennium drew me initially because of an obsession with dark tales of people with obsessions they couldn't overcome. Even Frank was unable to resist the darkness even though it cost him great pain. The writers managed to convey a fragment of hope, I can't begin to imagine what inspired him, aside from Jordan, to go on.

What is obsession? I find myself back here again and again, even though I know I may have annoyed some people with dumb, thoughtless comments. I'm somewhat thickheaded and don't always get the message.

After a long absence from a dead hard drive, I returned and lurked here, taking inspiration from the amazing insights of you who are fans of this show. I kind'a barged in one day, acting like I never left, which to my mind I hadn't.

I won't do that again. Forgive the outburst. You are the most amazing people.

I can't begin to express my admiration.

you may pick my brain anytime....i dont call myself a expert in the series but i am very knowledgable in criminology and insightful in the supernatural world, even though i am very much a christian

Thanks Joe. I don't know that I'm a very good christian, but I've always felt a kind of protection/presence, for lack of a better word. But I don't think I'm a criminal? Criminally confused sometimes.

I had a Catholic mom, who was very much into the supernatural. A Protestant dad who was a very calming influence until he died when I was 12. I went on to marry a Baptist.

I'ts a wonder I'm not a serial killer.

You have not annoid me in the slightest, and I'm glad for another of these sort of discussions. I always enjoy reading Joe's posts and insights as well.

Give me time , lol! you are both very sweet.

By obsession I only meant looking for answers. To this day I have a real fear of Catholic churches. Not Catholics which include family and freinds, just the downright terror of the building. Walkabout did a thread on phobias but it seemed a little insane to admit that. So I guess I'm saying Millennium (and this list ) provides perspective on what is obsessive and what is balanced.

Raven, if you get any flashes :death: I di'nt do it, I swear!

not sure what the fear/phobia is for Catholic church buildings are called but i am sure our crack staff will get right on it. I myself respect all religions, but i do find it intresting that in some religions like Catholism that you will see Jesus on the cross and a huge emphasis on Mary. Other churches like mine have crucfixes without Jesus.

Seeking answers is a similar trait to those that are believers in Christ. Seeking him in all things we do, is what he wants from us. i am always looking for answers to things i am confused about.

One of the main things that drawn me to this show was because i saw alot of myself in Frank Black, i have gone through some tough times just like him. I really do think when you are a gifted person...you will not only recieve praise but will also be tested and challenged.

I believe that too. And I believe this generation has seen only the beginings of it's toughest challenges.

I am a person of faith, but I also believe we are on our own.

The city I live in has some of the older churches in terms of architecture, massive and forboding depending on your mindset I guess. The more modern ones have less emphasis on pain and death IMO. Though it could be argued they lack some of the mystery and tradition more well-adjusted catholics appreciate.

Hope the bill for this therapy isn't too steep? I have Christmas shopping to do yet, lol!

Bon :embarassed:

(thanks :)
