King Kong

Has anybody seen King Kong yet? I saw it Wednesday afternoon. I never liked the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, but I only saw the first one. But I like special effects and I loved the theatrical trailer of King Kong. I wasn't disappointed. Actually, I loved it. It's spectacular. And more. It's the most expensive movie ever made, with a budget of $207.000.000,- (Superman Returns, which is still in production has a budget of $250.000.000,-)

The movie is 188 minutes long, so that's over 3 hours. Some may find this too long, but I wasn't bored for even one second.

The movie consists of three parts. One hour in New York, one hour on Skull Island and one hour back in New York (roughly). The first hour is mostly setup for the rest of the movie. About 10 minutes after they reach the island the action really kicks in and doesn't stop until they leave the island again. And the special effects! They are mindblowing! I will not give too many details, but the greatest effects scenes are a brontosaurus stampede and Kong fighting 3 T-Rex dinosaurs, which lasts for about 15 to 20 minutes.

The last hour in New York is also great.

So, if you like monster movies, special effects, epic stories, good acting (Naomi Watts), than King Kong is definately worth seeing. Especially in a good movie theatre.

I'll be taking my son to see it this week if its on yet so I didn't read much of your posts for spoiler reasons! I bought him the game for the X-Box for him though.
